It's OK for a quick meal and drink, No issues, food was good, very short wait, lovely staff. But pretty limited selection of food, although they cater well for vegetarianand Vegan. We wanted a non stuck up overpriced meal, sadly Winchester is full of them and over packed IMHOCrown & Anchor was what we were looking forHowever it felt a bit dark and dingy inside, but is a very old historical building, so low ceiling dark wood etc.We sat in the enclosed rear outside area which is nice and sheltered.Would go again if in Winchester.

Great pub food at decent price. Good vegan menu too. And a lovely and professional Irish waitress. Plus our dog was welcome so a fantastic lunch all around

Fab pub never been before just walked in the staff were very friendly and welcoming menu was good, good choice and excellent non alcoholic options tried a mixed Berry gin which was delicious and the food was 1st class very happy will definitely be going again

Was looking for a diet friendly place to eat while away. Stumbled across this place and so glad we did. Both the staff and locals were welcoming and even told us where to find the specials board. The kitchen staff altered the menu to cater for our needs leaving off dressings from salads and GF.There was a group with one in a wheelchair and even though this is an old quintessential english pub there was more than enough room for her to get around. So all in all I'd say great food 😋, great staff and 🐕 friendly too, what's not to like. Will definitely go back if ever in the area.

Nice welcome on entering, menu included light and small bites as well as daily specials. Service was good. Seem the be frequented by a good number of locals which I think is always a good sign. We both enjoyed our meal and wine and will return again in the near future.

Good old fashioned pub. No nonsense, good beer, good food, great atmosphere. Sensible prices for a tourist area. Recommend a visit.

Small friendly pub, my first ever visit, had the Christmas Dinner(3 courses for £30) great value, just the perfect pub for people with big appetites

This is a brilliant little pub. The food was amazing with such friendly staff. I can't recommend the chicken and cider pie enough.

Warm & cheerful welcome from the Barman / Landlord on a wet and windy afternoon. Prompt efficient table service from the waitress. Good variety of F&B on offer, the lamb shank melted in your mouth, with chips & gravey.. Obviously.
