Fox And Hounds Country Pub And Dining Rooms in Winchester

Spontaneous lunchtime visit, enjoyed sitting in the conservatory. Disappointed with the cod, I eat cod quite regularly, can not remember the last time I found a bone but here I had around a dozen bones and the portion was fairly small. Tasty sticky toffee pudding though.

We did a big family walk to get here and were hungry.First off, they said they couldn't give us allergy info, then they said they didn't have any packing to check, and then they pulled out an allergy menu that wasn't up to date. So we couldn't eat anything.To be fair, the waiter was helpful and apologetic but this is illegal, unhelpful and dangerous.Apart from that, it's fairly run down, with broken kids toys and angry signs.

It's an okay pub...The Fuller's London Pride was a good pint, be it gas pumped...Food, the chef's house chicken curry was somewhat of a let down...It looks good, but...The curry sauce wasn't that hot or spicy in flavour, less than you would expect from a mild korma...The rice clumped together...Did it have the hall marks of being a microwaved dish, probably...The Staff were friendly...The Loo's are clean...

Lovely place and good food

A good local pub. I'd say, more of a drinkers pub than food, but I liked the way that there is a seperate "conservatory" area to eat in.Solid burger, nice ribs and gammon. V friendly staff.

The food here was excellent and the staff were delightful. Really enjoyed out two visits. Definitely will recommend to friends.

A nice quite pub, with a good range of food from steak pie to burgers and much more, friendly staff and reasonable prices. Would recommend if you are in the area and need a good meal.

Really impressed with the staff and service. We were able to drop in unbooked on a Sunday afternoon for a roast dinner and everyone looked after us well. They went above and beyond for our toddler and brought out an extra plate of food which we hadn't ordered in case he wanted it, (which he did). Thank you, we'll be back!

We visited this really lovely pub on a Saturday afternoon and were greeted with a warm welcome from friendly staff.The menu is varied with something for everyone, the food is freshly cooked and delicious as are coffees, the prices are honest and realistic and we felt we got real value for money.We will definitely be returning. 5*+ for friendly staff, food, value and the lovely warm relaxed atmosphere, we loved it!
