Friendly village pub, keeping good beer, and serving the best pub Sunday roast beef we've had in a long while!

What a find ! A stop over on our way to the Dorset coast and worth every minute of the detour from the route. The welcome was warm and friendly, the ambience is comfortable and cosy and the food was excellent. Every member of staff went out of their way to make our short lunch stop a really enjoyable experience. If you’re in the area you MUST visit - but book first !!

We had the warmest welcome at the Half Moon & Spread Eagle, all the staff were really friendly and helpful! My friends and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner and the staff made a fuss of my friend as we were celebrating her birthday, we all felt very spoilt! Would recommend!

Nice stop off for a pint after dog walk.If your stopping at forest holidays it's only a short drive.Dogs gave a big paws up to the doggy ice cream.Didn't have food but it smelt good.Check opening times as not open every day.Good selection of drinks.

Just been to a wake, best wake food ever, delicious, especially the cakes!!! Will recommend and also try the Sunday lunch, thank you to the Hostess and Staff.

Great food, fab beer, great company. Thoroughly recommend it! Cancel last comment, there aren't enough stars to give this pub. We just had our club's Christmas Dinner today. The amount of work they put into making us welcome, socially distant, safe and opulently fed & watered was over the top and out of this world. In these really difficult times they pulled out all the stops! Thank you!

Came for a last minute booked dinner here last night. Honestly, one of the best pub meals I've ever had the pleasure of eating. The pub itself is beautiful and with it being Xmas the decor made it extra special and was so cosy and welcoming. The staff were delightful which made it an even better experience. The food was a pleasure to eat. The tartare sauce and pea purée were something special and I enjoyed every mouthful. The treacle tart was the perfect end to a wonderful meal. I will very happily come back again in the future if I am near Winchester again. I just wish this pub was close to where I live in London!

This is the pub you dream of .worth a very long drive 4 real ales on tap .with all the fab festures you love grand father clock low wooden beams brasses willow patterned plates fire place with 3 wood burner one eletric . A snug. Food top quality made two on the spot ploughmans that not on menu had a lovely birthday. Many thanks oh kid and dog friendly i took my chrilden.
