Hinton Arms in Winchester

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here today. Nice crispy roast potatoes, succulent lamb and tasty vegetables. I had a pint of their own beer that was nice too. After the meal we walked to the National Trust Hinton Ampner for a walk around the grounds. Pub is dog friendly and staff were welcoming.

Delicious Sunday lunch for the family plus our (very well trained and well behaved) dog was allowed to sit at our feet while we ate. Portion size is very generous, couldn't have managed two courses.

Called in today for lunch, we were warmly welcomed, covid precautions top notch still.We had 2 lovely baguettes, gorgeous chunky chips and a lovely side salad with coleslaw. Sounds simple but definitely the top of the tree using quality and fresh ingredients.Well done to all the staff, we'll be going out of our way to visit again for sure.

Went here for a cup of tea and some crisps. Its not really a pub, more restaurant-ty. The staff was friendly and welcoming but atmosphere was not, people next to me seemed a but stuck up.Also it's got hunting decorations all over the place which I'm not a fan off

Fantastic meal today! Friendly staff that were absolutely amazing. Food was delicious. Place was clean and had no issues at all! Would 100% reccomend this place to everyone. We had a birthday celebration and they had balloons and a banner out which was a great touch!

Lovely food, especially the duck. The roast potatoes tasted good when you were able to cut into them! Staff friendly and good atmosphere. We had a nice long walk after the meal.

We are staying locally for a week so we're very lucky to have this place within walking distance. We've been twice now and both times have very much enjoyed the food. The roast dinners are superb, great quality and well cooked, and the desserts and home-made and delicious. Wine choice is fine and local beers and ales on tap too. Dog-friendly, big beer garden out the back, places for kids to play too. Lots of staff, excellent service. Even Doggy Ice-cream available! What more could you want?

Wonderful pub with very extensive menu choices including at least half a dozen ‘today’s specials’. High quality food with generous servings. Good quality local beer 🍺.Very friendly welcoming staff and dog 🐶 friendly. Fully COVID compliant and plenty of parking space. Very convenient for Hinton Ampner National Trust house and gardens.

This is a really good country pub in a beautiful location.I went here for food with some family members and wasn't disappointed. A great roast dinner at good prices with friendly and professional service.I've stopped here on a ride with a mate before as well and it happened to be on one of the previous vintage vehicle meets, well worth a look!

Chose the Hinton Arms due to its vicinity to the National Trusts Hinton Ampner.There was plenty of parking outside as well as lots of external sheltered tables.The menu was larger than expected. The portions were larger than we expected too. I had the homemade Haddock fish cakes and my friend had the homemade cheese burger and they were both absolutely delicious!The service was polite and efficient. They seemed quite busy and the waitress was constantly in demand.As much as we like supporting the National Trust, we will be back to do some more walking on the grounds and back here to sample more from the fabulous menu!!
