The staff are nice and polite. The restaurant gives you a relaxing feeling with soft music and lighting environment. We ordered the tea Sencha Sakura, which is seasonal and out of our expectation. We had a set lunch for two. The salmon is excellent esp the sashimi. For other fish or seafood, they were fair. Maybe the selections took the local availability. The beef tataki was too chewy with tendon. Tempura was below standard that was wet without crispy texture. The veg selection was wired. Maybe we used to have Japanese sushi and sashimi in Japan. This visit failed us. The desert was good. We spent £92 for two. The price is Michelin but not the quality and taste of food. Still I give four stars for this restaurant.

What an experience! A wonderful welcome and impeccable service along with some of the best sashimi I ever had. Do ask for menu ecommendations and you won't be disappointed.

The best Japanese restaurant I have been to outside of Japan. There is a good selection of small dishes, sushi, rolls and other meat and vegetarian dishes. My favourite dishes so far are the Tori Kara-age, seared Hampshire beef roll and the chicken gyoza. The staff are very attentive, professional and polite. The restaurant itself is relatively small, but this creates a more intimate setting to enjoy your meal.

Very creative and fresh made Japanese restaurant. It will be better to have more nigiri choices, but foods are all very sophisticated and well presented. A little bit at the pricy side

Kyoto Kitchen has an terrific menu. My wife & I went for the Syokutsuu Gourmet with Sake pairing. Each course brings its own unique tastes, the Black Cod in particular was a highlight amongst an exemplary range of dishes. To have genuine Wasabi Root fresh ground at the table was an eye opener, it's a very different flavour compared to what I'd had as a Wasabi paste previously at other restaurants. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable about each course. We would gladly return if we're back in the area!

Absolutely loved this restaurant. The atmosphere was nice, cosy and elegant. The staff were superb, especially the gentleman who explained our dishes and gave excellent suggestions. The food was served on time, delicious and presentation was excellent . One of the best birthday dinners I've had. 10/10 will be going back!

We’ve been here a couple of times now and have had the regular and gourmet tasting menus…with the gourmet menu really living up to its name last night.Fabulous, fresh ingredients in every dish be it sushi, sashimi or anything else through to the dessert - all simply delicious. The monkfish was especially worth a menu…notoriously hard to cook right, the monkfish tail was as tender as can be…and LOADED with flavour.I really can’t recommend this place highly enough.
