Pizza Express in Winchester

Visited again for some great pizza. Had the bbq brisket on a pizza which was delicious

Loved the pizza express that used to exist in our town, but since the pandemic the Winchester branch is the closest. Unfortunately this branch is very disorganised, lost our order, the staff had a fight in the open kitchen and it was an unpleasant experience all round. Would not go back to that restaurant but will go back to Pizza Express as the pizza is very good and not greasy take away quality

This is a general customer service / restaurant going above and beyond review!! Utterly impressed by the staff at Winchester pizza express. Today we had an awful accident in the park across the road with our 20 month old. She was in a lot of pain and shock (as were me and my husband). They sat us straight down gave lots of ice for a compress. Offered us food and drink. Gave our daughter lots to play with including some raw dough (to be like play dough) for her to play with and distract her from the pain while they called a taxi for the hospital. Thank you so much - pleased to say it was all minor and she’s fine. Times like that when you just need people to help and not cause further fuss or issues. Very grateful. Thank you.

On first impressions from outside it appeared quite small, a beautiful building in a lovely part of Winchester. Positioned right by the river Itchen, it is such a fantastic location.As you walk in, it is clear how the building opens up and then it becomes evident that the seating continues upstairs giving this place quite a decent amount of seating.We were located next to a window looking out over the rushing water from the weir just behind the building. Also just opposite the pizza preparation area, the guys working that were amazing. Very skilled and great personalities. The table staff were also very good, very friendly and helpful and also very attentive.The food was superb, the Calamari was perfectly cooked, and had literally just been cooked. I chose the Diavolo which was definitely the right choice, had a good balance between spicy and sweet and the base was perfect.The cheesecake was delicious, so sweet and a great mixture of flavours, the salted caramel and the popcorn are a good match.If you are looking for a great meal in a lovely location with great staff and fantastic food, then this is definitely worth a visit.

Very nice and cosy place, clean and comfy lovely staff. Pizza Express is serving very thin crust but that's okay cause the menu looks so fancy and the food is just great. They have very good desserts as well. Not a place for disabled though.

Simply amazing! You can't really go wrong with Pizza Express but the service we received from the second we arrived was 1st class! The food was outstanding! We'd just done a very long walk along the River Itchen so to be greeted in such a friendly way followed by such amazing food was a perfect. Food was quick, service was quick, the wine was cold, the sun was shining! The atmosphere was great. We didn't want to leave! We were in Winchester for 3 days and this was the best meal we had.The Jalapeño Dough Balls were super spicy but delicious and the Leggera pollo ad astra was cooked just perfect.

Absolutely fantastic. These guys are on top of their game. The best pizza express ever. The manager was warm and welcoming and the staff were brilliant. Never mind the food, I’m happy that real hospitality still is alive. Well done!

Booked a table for a Saturday lunchtime, despite them being pretty busy we were sat down straight away. Manager and waitress were very attentive and our food was out quickly and it was delicious! Prefer it when it’s quieter but you expect it to be busy on a Saturday lunch time.

My friend and I visited on Saturday evening. The food was delicious and the staff were very attentive. A special thank you to James, our waiter, who was fantastic despite being very busy. We'll definitely go there again soon.
