Delicious afternoon tea served in a charming garden by friendly, attentive staff. The Guinness cake was a hit with our family!

Lovely atmosphere, very sweet and polite staff, and delicious cake! The lemon sponge came out deliciously warm and soft with plenty of syrup soaked in! Would definitely recommend for anyone to visit.

Came here in early October on a quiet Sunday with my wife. Sat in the beautiful garden out in the back (although I do recommend they apply some finish to the bare pine structure to make it feel as rustic and nice as the rest of the space). Birds chirping we were quickly looked after by the polite staff.We had tea and scones and took in the space and relaxed for quite a while in the peace. Tea came quickly and was great (we fans of Char already, so we knew it would be) and the scones came out warm and nice shortly after.If you're here on a quiet day, it's a great place to spend some quality time.

Delightful morning coffee and scones, in a pretty, sheltered garden. We were looked after beautifully by the charming waitress. So much nicer than the coffee shop chains. Dog friendly, so they brought a bowl of water for Moose (our moderately behaved border terrier) too.

A brilliant secret spot to stop and enjoy tea, cake or lunch in one of Winchester's prettiest back streets. The scones and chutney are perfection. Amazing selection of teas and the cake is always brilliant too. The leafy, shaded, enclosed courtyard garden at the back is an oasis in summer. The cosy inside a haven in winter. A brilliant place to sneak away to after shopping in central Winchester.

Really enjoyed our afternoon tea here. Setting is beautifull, the service (and genuine guidance) from Charlie and the chef on shift with him was top notch and the food was to die for. The scones with clotted cream and selection of interesting home made jams was the nicest I've ever had. Keep doing what yere doing 😊

We went on a Saturday afternoon sat for nearly twenty minutes before our order was taken. We ordered three teas and a slice of cake We never got the slice of cake! When I went to pay I told the lady who took the money we didn't get the cake so please take off the bill. I explained that didn't think service was the best. She said only her and a another girl working and she shouldn't have been working that day. I didn't really see how that was relevant not customers problem. It was a busy Saturday afternoon probably the busiest day of the week. They should have enough staff. They charged £10.50 for a pot of tea for three! Which I feel was a rip off. I certainly will not be returning as have been before, but the price and service is a real let down.

I have never had such a bad afternoon tea it took over an hour for parts of it to arrive in instalments although the total size of it could have arrived on a saucer. Were to start with what was so bad the pot of tea arrived half an hour before the smallest selection of sandwiches and the thinist 2 slices of cake you have ever seen. The sandwiches had been cut so thin and stood so long they had developed their own toasted topping. We had to admire how they managed to cut the cake (2 slices) into a slice only 5mm thick at it widest point then after tasting this I realised it must have been due to its solid additives. After several reminders my glass of proseco and my solid single scone with sloppy unidentifiable cream arrived. All in all this wasn't the best £28.50 spent and when I told the waiter he expected it but still expected the full payment. If you want a non fattening tasteless overpriced afternoon this is the perfect place alternatively I like to fatten upon holiday so would advise anyone with taste buds to avoid.

Had lunch with family on Monday 27th August at the Tea Room. Lovely venue, nice outside space, polite and welcoming staff. Enjoyed a good cup of Tea, sandwiches and a slice of very nice cake.Tea Room could do with extra staff to help on busy days so that regular staff can maintain the good service/food they deliver.

It’s new and the atmosphere and decor reflected that. The service was OK and the tea was nice... but the cakes were very disappointing. It was the one thing we hoped would be good. My carrot cake wasn’t the best that I’ve had but my wife’s Victoria Sponge was dry and solid - she couldn’t finish it. Thankfully they took it off the bill but I was expecting a lot more from a new tea shop trying to make its mark in Winchester, especially for the price - £10 for two teas and one cake!
