Scene in Winchester

Cosy pub, perfect for a pint.Don't go as a tourist, staff were really unwelcoming with me unlike with other local guests.There was no toilet available for ladies.

Stopped off for one drink. A lovely old style pub. Barman was very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely go back.

Nice little old pub. Nice prawn sandwich, didn't stay long as we were in a rush. Would love to go back for a few beers

Quaint, warm & welcoming, lovely atmosphere and friendly bar staff, such an historic place dating back to the 12th century, it was a pleasure to have a drink here on a Friday night and listen to the live music duo playing their guitars softly and singing folk songs - i think :)

Absolutely amazing roast dinner. I cannot recommend The Eclipse enough; friendly staff, delicious food.I have coeliac disease and cannot eat gluten. We asked if the roast dinner was gluten free and the chef said the potatoes had flour on. Most places usually leave it at that and I go without, but instead the chef went out and bought a bag of potatoes to cook for me!!!! This place is BRILLIANT.

We had an absolutely lovely time in this cosy pub. The staff were amazing, special thanks to Elliot for the great food recommendations and taking care of us! Highly recommend all of the Christmas Tapas. So delicious and filling!! We were on a short trip and would definitely come back another day. Many thanks!

Traditional old English Inn. Retains it's old features, no modernisation or arty farty decor. Great atmosphere, warming real fire, friendly staff and good prices

Fantastic place! Full of history. Such a beautiful old building inside and out. Visited twice recently during our visit to Winchester and we were very impressed with everything. Staff super friendly, efficent and informative. Today we had the Sunday roast. Husband had the roast beef and I had the chicken. Our plates were overflowing with food and can honestly say, it was the best Sunday roast we have had in ages. Also extremely good value. If you are looking for an historic pub/ restaurant in Winchester, then I thoroughly recommend the Eclipse.

Lovely pint of (expensive) Stella in a traditional setting. I didn't eat but food looked good. Music a bit loud for me but I guess others must like it. Would go again for a quick pint but a session would have to be somewhere cheaper & quieter.

Delightful Tudor pub with wonderful drinks and accommodating staff.Thoroughly enjoy the Cumberlands and the Pie. Both the gravys were stunning and was a real delight to wash it down with a nice cask ale.Just nitpicking but the Cumberlands could have done with some more colour on them and the starters section of the menu could be expanded.But that's just nitpicking it's a wonderful menu and a great place to enjoy some pub grub.
