The Good LIfe Farmshop & Cafe in Winchester

I meet friends quite regularly here and it’s a great place. Lovely hot coffee but unfortunately the same couldn’t be said for the food. The tomato risotto was delicious but only just warm. I was very hungry and as it was delicious I didn’t want the hassle of a further wait . My friends also found the same with a second risotto and a quiche.I was really chilly by the time we left as it wasn’t warm in the cafe itself and I suppose the blankets on the chairs were there for a reason. I’m not sure if there was a temporary problem with their heating or it was a measure undertaken to save energy but I really wouldn’t enjoy having to eat a lunch wrapped in a blanket.Having said that, I do appreciate how rising energy costs must be having an enormous impact.The temperature of the food , though, is a concern and should be addressed as I see it has been mentioned before..

The place is freezing cold. Even using one of their blankets did not keep me warm, inside the cafe!Didn't clear up the plates even after an hour of finishing. Didn't ask if we wanted anything else, we had to go to the till to order cakes. Food was enjoyable though, and the cake was delicious.

Met a friend for coffee yesterday morning. . They had run out of teacakes, which was a bit disappointing. However, the cheese scones with extra cheese were delicious. Service was friendly, although a little slow. For us, as we wanted to have a good old natter, this didn’t really matter and we were able to sit at our (inside) table for ages. We would both be happy to go back again at some point.

The staff were lovely and it was super busy so obviously popular. But...I thought it was very expensive. Good quality food but more expensive than anywhere else I have been for breakfast and the tea and toast is extra. Paid £48 for three to have breakfast. Some nice products in the shop but again very expensive. Nearly £7 for a bag of 4 brownies. I would expect that if buying them fresh from a bakery but generally found it overpriced.

Super selection of vegetables, delicatessen items and a carefully curated grocery store. Nice wines too. Butchers shop within the store is ok but run by unfriendly people - I used to spend £100s a month here but have taken my business elsewhere.

Friendly staff. Cozy place. Cake I had was amazing. Love the shop and the food they sell. Sit in sit out. Would go again. Love the water and glasses on table.

Great breakfast and in fact one of the best for the price. Covid rules being followed so a thumbs up. Blankets supplied if cold and the wood burner not creating enough heat. Returned a few days later with other family members . Shop isnt big but a good enough selection of local and fresh food and the butchery seemed popular.

Have only been once and usually go to places at least twice before I write a review but here I trust my gut feeling.Service ok yet friendly, waiter forgot two out of three things but sometimes it might be difficult to understand if you order with your mask on.Had an oat latte which was lovely. Children had a chococcino, brownie and a toast with jam not the healthiest choice but a nice treat.The price is rather high almost £20 for two coffees a brownie and the toast (similar to some places in London!) but then you support an independant farm shop I suppose.Loo could have done with a good clean too.

Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the team at Cobbs in Winchester for pulling off a very last minute care package for a colleague. Great value, range of products, presentation and above all amazing communication from Dan in the office all while I was far away in London. Would 100% recommend and use again. Thank you guys!!!

Lovely decor and setting, but it was a bit cold inside.Food was locally sourced and very tasty but also not that hot. Full breakfast was quite expensive and did not come with bread or toast - later found this was a paid add on option that was not offered when we ordered.The staff were polite & friendly.Unfortunately, service was a bit slow considering they had just opened and the number of staff around - the sticky & wobbly table was the final thing to confirm we would look elsewhere to stop off at, for future road trips to Devon.
