My friend and I ate in the Thai restaurant section, The Lucky Lychee, but also accessed the bar area. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was an error with one of our drinks, but the staff were very helpful with resolving the issue straight away. The food in the restaurant was very nice and the atmosphere was lovely. All in all, a very pleasant visit.

First time I visited this pub in Winchester. Really nice pub and enjoyed my visit. Smart, clean pub with friendly service and a good atmosphere. Good place to watch sports, which is well catered for, but didn't change a good experience. I didn't eat there but aim to go back and try the food.

Sadly I didn't have a good experience at this location. We were advised that the only food available was hotdogs because the rugby was on. I explained we didn't eat meat and we were told there was nothing else. I asked if we could buy some sandwiches and bring them in and the landlady said no. Quite frankly i found this pub neither welcoming or friendly and certainly would not recommend it to anyone.

Nice pub. It's a standard Greene King so you know what to expect but the inside is nice and the staff friendly so can't complain at all!

Lovely pub. Very friendly and helpful but didn't do food during the day until 5pm.However, they did allow us to bring our own food in to eat which was amazing as it was a really cold day and we couldn't find anywhere to go. I don't know if the food situation was a one off as their dishwasher had broken down.I have to say though the staff were very helpful

1. As a venue to watch sport, it has 4 screens inside and one outside. You have to have poll position to be able to catch a glimpse of one of the screens inside as viewing angles are limited.2. As a place to eat grub, the food is uninspired and bland. The chicken wing chili sauce was actually quite palatable, but the chicken came out blistering hot yet somehow still under-cooked!3. As a place to chill and socialize, I've experienced worse, but the atmosphere is generally rather drab, probably due to it being so dark in most of the nooks and crannies inside. Lighting is uneven to the point of being noticeable and even annoying.4. But, and based on someone who has been to the pub over the last 3 years, is the management. Bar staff are friendly, but the manager is an absolute yellow flag (you get to know who she is after a while). She is a total joy sap that seems to treat customers like children. I've seen it on a number of occasions now - actively telling customers to leave because she didn't appear to like that they had a rebuttal. Her default facial expression is one of antipathy and disdain.Overall - with better management, the experience could be upped. This is not a dig at the staff, who have always been courteous. It just falls short in everything it is doing - it tries to do all flavours of pub yet falls short in every area. Winchester has much, much better on offer and in better more central locations, hence the 1 star.

Greene king serviced with a broad selection of craft gin and beers. Headed by a seasoned landlady with detailed knowledge of gin tasting notes and a friendly supportive staff. Location has a lovely courtyard for a summer evening. A true surprise and gem was the pub is serviced by authentic south East Asian cuisine, cooked by a skilled Malaysian lady and western man (married) equally skilled. Highly recommended from locals and now also from myself. The food quality cannot be overstated.

Really enjoyed this pub - the staff there were brilliant and friendly. We booked to watch the F1 on Sunday and, even when our time was up on our table, they were super accommodating and allowed us to stay after our table was up - they really made a lot of effort for us and it was unexpected and massively appreciated. The beer was brilliant and the atmosphere was amazing - the staff were super accommodating and that was brilliant. Will definitely go back there again when I am in Winchester again - I hope this place stays exactly the way it is!

Good service, the staff are very friendly. Tasty lunch at a reasonable price; some good gluten free options. Very nice ambience. Handy for the train station if you have a wait.
