The Porterhouse in Winchester

Off the charts!! I wish I could rate higher than 5* - the service was spectacular. Four different members of staff were all very welcoming, polite, and smiling! We also appreciated the relaxing ambience and comfortable tables.We had teriyaki beef skewers, spicy fusion chicken and a bread basket to start, rib eye steak and grilled trio as mains, and apple & raspberry crumble plus baileys cheesecake for dessert.Everything tasted absolutely divine. 100% recommend, and will go back soon!

We visited on a Thursday evening and opted for the specials menu (3 courses for £18.95) and it was excellent value. We both had the trio of skewers for starters then paid an extra £2.95 to upgrade from rump to sirloin, it was cooked just to our liking and the 2 sauces it came with complimented the steaks perfectly - as did the moreish chunky chips! We finished off with Bailey's cheesecake and chocolate brownie, again both delicious. A gem of a restaurant I would highly recommend a:)

We return to this steakhouse every time we visit Winchester ( which is pretty often!) Visited again this weekend and once again had a wonderful meal at the Porterhouse Steakhouse. Food was fantastic, service was top quality as always.Looking forward to the next time!

Dining out on our wedding anniversary (albeit, last September). It was a lovely evening that we had. The food and wine were excellent. The service was very good too.

Over rated.Dissatisfied with the quality of the steak, was stringy and tough.Also we have frequented other more mainstream steak houses and the price was the same here for a lot less food at poorer quality.Very little garnish or additional food on the plate. It's basically steak and chips which is bad value.Wouldn't go back.

Really good quality of steak! And nice Bailey's cheese cake Very nice waitres as well. Definitely suit the name of the place. I will definitely go back to Porterhouse if I visited Winchester again.

Came here for wife’s birthday. Great quality beef. And lovely table decorations for birthday plus a complementary dessert cake with birthday candle. A shame we don’t live as local as we would be back more often! Thanks for going the extra mile Porterhouse

Top notch steakhouse. Very friendly and attentive staff, quick service and the steaks were excellent. The only thing that kept this from being 5 stars was what came with the steaks - just standard chips like you'd get at any takeaway. For the price expect proper potato chips or fries and maybe some veg
