We had a Mothers Day meal. The two men had lamb roasts, which they thoroughly enjoyed. Lovely big Yorkshire puddings! They happily served a plate of vegetables and offered a vegetarian gravy. Mother in Law chose the Wild Mushroom gnocchi. This was a large portion and tasted delicious 😋. I chose the Caesar salad (large); it was the best one I have had with fresh anchovies. We had great service.

Recently stayed at The Swan to visit the Steam Illuminations and it was a lovely hotel to stay at.The room was clean, tidy and had a view of the main street in Alresford. Being at the front you could hear traffic but it wasn't obtrusive and didn't really notice it.We ate at the restaurant for duration of the stay and I can't praise it enough. The staff are friendly, the bar had a great range of beer, cider and wines, the atmosphere was cosy and it was frequented by locals which, I think, is a true sign of how good an establishment is and finally, the food was excellent. All the staff were lovely, but I want to given a special mention to Lino - he absolutely took the experience to another level. Incredibly helpful, friendly, approachable and nothing was too much trouble. An absolute credit to the hotel and establishment as a whole.Look forward to coming back again soon!

Outstanding venue, staff and food+drink! Went here for a Christmas party last night that I shall never forget 🎅🎄 We had our own room downstairs with bar that was an old railway tunnel/bomb shelter and was very exciting! All had a smashing time, thanks so much 🤗

I had my 60th birthday lunch there on Saturday and eight of us stayed the night. The food was fantastic. The room set aside was perfect and the Accomodation was very comfortable. Most of all the attention to detail, efficiency and helpfulness of Jessica was very impressive considering how hard she worked. We were also very impressed with Louise who looked after our arrival and departure and Lino who also worked very hard yet remained calm and pleasant throughout. The chef also deserves a medal. Food was faultless. Top place to have a birthday party.

Excellent restaurant and bar, superb wines and the usual copious spirits are available. The Swan is the holder of a 5 star award for cleanliness. Prices are very fair for the food and drink. The key part to pulling together of all these skills are the staff, they are all very polite and keen to help. While at The Swan, get away from the excellent food and drink, go and visit The Watercress line railway.Tom Keyes - Northampton.

Went to the restaurant after a ride on the Watercress Line.Atmosphere was warm and welcoming and the service polite and attentive. The food was OK but the ham was a little tough (undercooked?)

We were trying to book a B and B/ hotel in Winchester but, as there was no availability, we looked at New Alresford 7 miles away and found The Swan Hotel .. and we are delighted we did. The hotel and the area is a gem of a place. The staff were faultless and couldn’t do enough to help you whether it be advice on local walks to the bus timetables. The hotel has a 3 star standard rating but I would honestly give it 5 * for the service and the hospitality. The breakfast was delicious (veggie option and full English, eggs Benedict, fresh coffee and juice) there are lots of different areas/ rooms for having a quiet coffee, a family birthday celebration, couples’ meal or popping in for a pint and watching the football near the bar. We will be returning and encourage anyone to stay at the Swan Hotel and support a small vibrant old market town such as New Alresford. 10/10

Excellent food, all day breakfast great value and delicious, fresh and tasty . Staff very friendly and courteous. Lovely dining areas, bright and clean.

Not bad . Some foods scored ten out of ten , sweet dishes were generally excellent , but the Caesar salad 🥗 in the Saturday evening I had was a big disappointment . Chips are pretty good though . Sandwich at early afternoon was reasonably good.Prices generally reasonable . All ladies serving were pleasant and helpful .

The hotel was quaint and clean. Staff appeared friendly but were busy.Negatives- the car park was tiny. Lots of double parking. I managed to get a space eventually as a staff was leaving. The food I ordered was bland and disappointing. At breakfast only 1 small glass of juice. The room was beautiful. Only 1 pillow each. No extras in the cupboard. A bath; no shower. No sign to warn of the steep step out of the bath. The hotel itself was ideal for where I needed to get to the next day which was only 5mins away.
