Went for dinner with our young dog. Food was amazing and staff went above and beyond for our dog, he had so much cuddles and treats. We had a great time, staff super friendly. Highly recommend !

A superb hotel/restaurant lovely spacious rooms, brilliant staff. We stayed there for our visit to the Bombay Sapphire distillery easy to book a taxi their & back.. and much better value than hotels nearby. If your planning a visit this is the place to stay. Oh and the breakfast 😋😊😁

Good value for money, great Sunday roasts that might have been served warmer but still got fully consumed! The kids loved their chicken burgers too although 1 was disappointed as the chicken nuggets had run out (stock control?). Overall very good though including nice deserts.

Myself and my wife came here for a romantic anniversary dinner and the service and food was just next level! We were greeted by a wonderful young waitress named Becky who bought us to our table. I am losing my eyesight with old age so she helped me to understand and read the lovely sunday menu. So much choice!I thoroughly enjoyed my signature roast: 7-hour Slow-Cooked Rib of Beef (served on the bone) Merlot & beef dripping sauce.A wonderful evening, fantatic food and wine and exceptional service from Becky.. Give that girl a pay rise!

Very large but rather soulless pub which hasn't made the most of its beautiful old buildings and clamped some hideous hotel on the side. Very useful as journey pitstop though. We weren't dining but the restaurant was busy which at three midday and midweek probably means the food is good. The lady who served us was nice and welcoming and the drinks order was exactly as requested. Toilets were clean, although no one seemed to have noticed the broken constantly running tap. If you are into Jane Austen you will get a kick out of the fact that this is where she used to wait for her post having walked across the fields from her home a few miles away.

We stopped here for an early dinner, it was a great experience. The food was very nice, the hamburger was ok (onion rings were chewy and not fresh) but the starter (Korean chicken dish which was new on the menu) was excellent and my colleague had a pork belly main course which he loved. A large bit of crackling made his day. Nice staff, and a lot of space to sit and enjoy some food and drinks. I highly recommend this place for a bite to eat or a few pints.

Stopped in for "brunch" the food was well laid out if a little lukewarm. It did taste nice, the pub is well laid out, not huge but not cramped and the staff were polite and attentive

Nice pub, fairly average food and tired accommodation. Staff nice and friendly. Reception was helpful and printed something off for me.

Currently staying at the Wheat sheaf as I’m attending a training course for my work normally I’d write an honest review after I’ve left somewhere but in this case it’s a massive exception been here three nights now and the service has been amazing the staff are so friendly, helpful and professional the room is incredibly comfy and food is out of this world will defo use this hotel again no issues what so ever and would defo recommend to anyone looking for a hotel in this area 5 stars isn’t enough keep up the incredible work. 👍
