Lovely cosy pub and friendly staff however the table service was lacking somewhat!! We sat at a table right next to where the staff congregate and were clearly visible but had to get up to order our food and were not asked if we wanted any more drinks...which we did but lost interest. My steak was rare despite asking for well done... this was quickly rectified but very disappointing as I very much dislike bloody food!! There were also no onion rings with my steak although advertised. We did however, whilst waiting to be served, hear quite a lot of the goings on in the staffs personal lives 😬

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable, well equipped and very clean. The breakfast was delicious. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend. We were staying overnight for a nearby wedding.

Beautiful old inn/pub right on the Test Way. Food was top-notch as was the staff. Appreciated that they serve non-alcoholic beers. Seating inside and out.The old building retains its charms but the rooms are filled with modern amenities, and are quite comfortable. The linens are to die for! Toiletries and tea/coffee service items--down to the stoneware cups--are from English sources. All in all a fantastic stay and much appreciated.

Very lovely place, cosy, friendly and steeped in history. The food looked great although I didn't eat and the staff was fantastic. However all I wanted was a couple of pints to relax after my day's work and as this pub was clearly aimed more at food I decided to move on elsewhere.Lovely place and I would definitely return but as a diner with my Wife.

Popped in on the way back from an epic walk and had a wonderful meal.8 of us ate and all of the meals were delicious, beautifully cooked and full of flavour. The service was great- fast and efficient-and the meal was very reasonable. Only too often you eat at a restaurant and wonder why you didn't just make something at home, this was certainly not the case.

This is a lovely place to have a light bit or go for a meal, the staff are are friendly and very helpful. The food is excellent and reasonably price, will definitely be going here again. The setting is at the top of Stockbridge High Street with lovely walks down by the river.

Absolutely lovely pub with stunning, well thought out rooms which included many of the little extra touches. Great breakfast to finish off with. Thank you for making our short stay so pleasant. Very impressed and wil be back.

Pretty cool, old location. Was there 2 times for a business trip.Rooms are quite good, some of them a little bit small, especially the bathrooms.Service is also good. Love the breakfast and in the evenings the Pub and the food like fish and chips.I will come back soon, I promise.

Nice old pub with cute hotel rooms. A group of us stayed for one night, and the room I was in was basic but had everything I needed. Sadly we didn't get to try the restaurant/ pub element in the evening. Hiwever, we had breakfast which was very good with a menu to order hot food: from sourdough bread with smashed avo and eggs Benedicte to fry ups and granola. Whilst it is not luxurious, I'd come back to stay again.

We ate at this establishment for lunch on 3 Jan. It was not too busy but enough customers to create a nice atmosphere.Staff were very pleasant, friendly and efficient. Prices for food were above average but there is a varied menu with a menu for the chef's specials. While we both had a burger this was excellent with the usual trimmings in the usual bun. This came with tripled cooked chips and it is here the meal was let down. They seemed a bit over cooked for our taste and cut too thinly leaving no room for a fluffy potato inside. Unfortunately there were quite few chips cooked to a cinder the sort you get from a chip shop. The desserts were great with a delicious treacle tart and delicious ice cream. The cheese board was also excellent and there was no trouble changing a cheese you did not like for more of one you did. This was also excellent value for money.Overall a pleasant lunch and we would visit again.
