Nice place (inside and outside) and the waitress was very friendly. But the food was very disappointing. I had a burger and the meat was dead for a long long time. I don't know how minced beef can get so dry and tough. The steak from my dead was very thin and chewy... Maybe just a bad day but we had 4 different dishes and non of them was good or even acceptable for the price. So unfortunately I would not give it another try.

This was fast becoming my go to place to eat, so introducing 2 people to the White Horse I thought would be a breeze and they would enjoy it as much as I do. I actually came twice this very day, once at lunchtime, where we had a lovely lunch in the sun, service was great and food was spot on. That I would have given a 5 star for. I actually came back in the evening because I enjoyed lunch so much and introduced by partner to the White Horse. Everything was going well until the desert course, where my partner found a hair in her pudding which she actually had in her mouth. This put her straight off the desert and said she didn't want to come back again. Oh, sucks for me because I like it here. The only gripe I have is I'm still looking for a authentic margarita pizza and even though the pizza was good it was no Italian margarita. I know you're not an Italian restaurant/pizzeria so not marking you on that. Unfortunately a meal that was nearly 5 star for the dinner service got a 3 star because of a hair, we did get the desert taken off the bill so thank you for that.

Overall this restaurant was OK. The ambience is good and even though it was quite busy, it wasn't too noisy. Our waitress was very pleasant and seemed keen to help, however the food took an age to come - we didn't time it but it must have been at least 45 minutes from ordering to our food arriving. Our waitress didn't chase up the kitchen staff until we mentioned it - and then the food arrived within 2 minutes! My steak sandwich was OK, although it was missing the cheese and it was stone cold, but I didn't complain as I wanted to eat with my family. My mother's sandwich had sirloin steak that was so chewy she left half of it. The other 2 meals were good, but the "small plate" that my wife had was REALLY small! Be warned! Thankfully she ordered a bowl of French fries. Desserts were good and coffee was excellent. Maybe it was a bad day in the kitchen but I will think twice about going back.17th May updateWe revisited the White Horse for a quick lunch and had a very good meal - Moules Marinere with frites and sourdough toast. Perfect for a sunny lunchtime! Following our previous visit the manager (Genevieve) gave us two vouchers to compensate for the rather poor lunchtime experience and although we didn't use them this time, we will go back again in the future, which is a great improvement on how I felt before.

Excellent local pub, dog friendly, great service and lovely food. Had the dressed crab truly delicious. Fairly priced. Highly recommend

Tried out this venue for breakfast and not disappointed.Service was good and food very tasty with many ingredients locally sourced.Decor was homely and well presented with even a small gift area at the entrance.Lots of outdoor seating, lots of parking and a children’s play area. A great place for brunch.

Excellent food, ox cheek and fish pie particularly good. Beautifully decorated, friendly staff. Very dog friendly, had dinner in the bar area but very civilised and made to feel very welcome. Good parking. We waited a little longer than expected for our main courses and the staff were amazing, updating us and taking money off the bill to apologize. Will definitely be back!

The food was good but unfortunately the table service was poor! Table service should mean be "waited" on. IE the waiter or waitress should easily be to hand to answer our queries and provide service.I was forever waving my hands about to try and attract the attention of the waiting staff in order to try and get another drink and the sweet menu. I would understand if the pub restaurant was full but it was half empty! No member of staff enquired if our meal was ok and I gave up trying to attract the attention of staff to pay the bill and went to the bar to pay. Needless to say I did not leave a tip.

Just passing and decided on an impromptu lunch date with the Mrs and it was just fab. The ambience was relaxing the service was attentive without being pushy. The food choice was good, was well presented and tasted as good as it looked. Could have spent the rest of the day there.. but sadly we had to leave and pick up the kids! Certainly one to return to..

Lovely pub, nice staff, good roast dinner we had the pork 1 of us got the nut roast, and they have limited but nice cocktails, water supplied to the table was £60 for 3 of us, nice relaxed atmosphere, good amount of parking to the rear

Cosy (despite doors and windows being open to combat Covid-19). Strange menu - not to out taste. However, the Fillet Steak on the 'specials' menu was excellent, as was the Blueberry and Lemon Cake we had with coffees to finish off the meal.
