My friend is profoundly deaf and wears hearing aids, so when I asked about background music (makes hearing harder) the manageress immediately offered us a room upstairs which is usually just for functions and we enjoyed a great meal and wonderful service. Would definitely go again

Lovely lunch at the Eclipse half timbered inn yesterday. Oozing with atmosphere. First impression tiny pub; however, more rooms at the back. Standard pub grub beautifully presented. Can see new owners have invested in the building complete with paintings of the tavern and music, although we felt the paintings, (wonderful as they are), and music could be more reflective of the 16th century times.

Visiting this favourite watering hole after over 30 years away. Great place to steep in the history of the cathedral district whilst enjoying a very good pint.Cosy bar

Stopped here for a bite to eat and really enjoyed the atmosphere.Food came out quickly and was really tasty. Also appreciated the building itself and the subtle touches of sun/moon decoration.

Cosy pub, perfect for a pint.Don't go as a tourist, staff were really unwelcoming with me unlike with other local guests. There was no toilet available for ladies.

We had an absolutely lovely time in this cosy pub. The staff were amazing, special thanks to Elliot for the great food recommendations and taking care of us! Highly recommend all of the Christmas Tapas. So delicious and filling!! We were on a short trip and would definitely come back another day. Many thanks!

Lovely pint of (expensive) Stella in a traditional setting. I didn't eat but food looked good. Music a bit loud for me but I guess others must like it. Would go again for a quick pint but a session would have to be somewhere cheaper & quieter.

Delightful Tudor pub with wonderful drinks and accommodating staff.Thoroughly enjoy the Cumberlands and the Pie. Both the gravys were stunning and was a real delight to wash it down with a nice cask ale.Just nitpicking but the Cumberlands could have done with some more colour on them and the starters section of the menu could be expanded. But that's just nitpicking it's a wonderful menu and a great place to enjoy some pub grub.
