Caldesi Campagna in Windsor and Maidenhead

I was looking forward to coming here for a while as moved to the area just before lockdown. Had ordered a couple of takeaways during that period and had been impressed by the quality of the food. Had a well made cocktail on arrival, service was good and a nicely made and presented starter. The big down side was we had to leave half way through the main course due to a fish bone being lodged in my wife’s throat. She had a main of mixed seafood inc some sea bass (I would say) presented as a fillet. There was no warning during the service of this that there were serious bones to look out for. When we got home I managed to get the bone out with tweezers and a torch , it was about an inch long. So paying for two courses but eating/enjoying one and leaving half a bottle of wine not drunk somewhat soured the experience. During what obviously an uncomfortable situation for my wife the staff were polite and caring but ultimately it was presented as the diners risk. I’ll leave others to decide if this is acceptable, I’m really not sure either way. It was a shame. Perhaps these things happen.

Great genuinely authentic Italian food in bray. If you’re in the area and fancy something other than the Michelin star pubs around, then this is a great choice. The flavours were excellent, pasta perfectly made, and great service to boot. Will be coming back soon I’m sure. 17/20

This has been a fabulous experience! Starting from the welcome we received, service, ambiance everything was just fantastic!The food was superb, definitely the best meal we had in a restaurant; the wine as well - fantastic!(very reasonable price)Thank you to all staff who served us for a wonderful service!

We had our family dinner celebrating my husbands birthday with our 2 teenage daughters. Very nice atmosphere, exquisite Italian food, very friendly and professional team, great attention to detail. The manager (or perhaps the owner) came over a few times to have a friendly chat. Excellent experience!

Good food, excellent service. Staffs do look after your table very well and they do their best to accommodate your request. It was quite loud, this place is more for casual family dinner than fine-dining in special occasion.

A nice atmosphere inside even on the weekday. Friendly barman and bar-staff. The range on the menus was good as there is plenty of choice on the mains and the desserts. First time In Bray village so was impressed. Will come again.

Excellent atmosphere at the food market with amazing food and cakes as well as a superb cup of coffee. Strongly recommend this place and can't wait for it to be open as a restaurant. I was not aware of it before but will be using it again.
