First visit as recommended by a friend. I was overwhelmed by the friendliness of the staff and the locals.A beautiful decor and everyone was enjoying a drink or a meal.Definitely worth another visit.

Treated ourselves to a family Sunday lunch. Very good value, generous helpings and cooked to perfection. Will visit again. It is a popular venue, so book your table in advance.

Great little pub, restaurant. Friendly, clean and tidy. Extensive menu, home made food, reasonable prices, quality. Beer garden. It's got it all !!

Quite busy at 18.10 on bank holiday Monday when we walked in we were told that we couldn't have a drink because they had already called last orders, Shocking really! We went back to the Rose and Crown and had a great night, we won't be going back to The Duke Of Edinburgh again.

Good location to have food however the food is limited to the number of tables booked in advance for some reason therefore they only serve food until a certain time unlike the pub next door Crown&Rose) which serves food for longer hours in the day apparently. There isn't anything healthy to eat as a snack either (Only have crisps and nuts) and apparently they do serve "desert" all hours which was offered to us as afte4 a while we sat down since we seemed to have missed the lunch hour. I, as a vegetarian wouldn't have mind to be offered a salad which doesn't need to be "cooked" but "oddly" they seem to have run out of all the food supply (!) as they stated so therefore we were only offered drinks however ordering only drinks didn't seemed enough to order by the reaction we have got as it didn't feel very welcoming despite being a large group with children. Especially, when I ordered a non-alcoholic drink as a designated driver...Nevertheless, we "managed" to get a table which was our aim and caught our breath after a busy day in Ascot visiting sites etc. If you are a visiting tourist, beware of the stares by locals as well as members of staff. Despite all, it was an "eye opening" experience. I would not go back for more though...

Tasty lunch today - I had steak and ale pie, other half had liver, bacon and onions - at the Duke of Edinburgh, it was busy so great atmosphere and friendly, attentive service. Great!
