We had dinner here the other night. The service here was astonishingly rude. We asked for a chair to be added to our table and it was as if the world collapsed. Slow service thereafter and no courtesy, particularly from the head (gentleman) waiter. None of us will go back or recommend this place.

Very impressed with Gilbey's restaurant. Upon walking in from the street you are greeted with a large, plus and well decorated interior. We were a group of 10 people who received very attentive service from the waiter. The food was cooked and presented to a really high standard. Good wine selection. Great place to come for a special occasion.

Visited Gilbey's in Eton and was instantly welcomed by friendly, attentive staff who sat us in a cosy nook right by the window. Every item on the menu sounded delicious - making it so hard to choose! Show stopper: their White Lake Dairy Goats Curd Cheesecake with Saffron poached pear, herb salad and Jerusalem crisps starter was exceptional..The bowl of muscles absolutely packed with flavor. Even the soup starter was sensational. If you're in the area, perhaps visiting Windsor castle, I highly recommend booking a table at Gilbey's. They're popular for a reason.. so don't miss out.

Following a visit today for lunch we thoroughly enjoyed our main choice although found the white wine by glass choice limited to 3, not the best quality & quite pricey. The food was very tasty & well presented, location & interior decor & cleanliness of toilets ticked the boxes.Sadly we were disappointed with the customer service. 1 female staff who was obviously serving did not greet us or advise that she would be with us shortly so we just waited !Once seated at table we noted 2 customers coming to bar to get her attention. A 2nd more experienced waitress joined momentarily. We also asked for attention on 3 occasions and our finished plates were left far too long on our table before collection. No finger bowl was offered for the mussels, we had to request one.Recommend far more attention is given to customer keeping an eye on their needs, a greeting when you arrive & depart, a few smiles and perhaps less chatting to chef who visited the bar!Service included & paid although grudging on my part. Believed observations wouldn’t have been accepted if highlighted to staff.Shame as service is key nowadays not only quality of food. Will not be returning.

Delightful little place a short stroll from the train station. Just three rooms so we were lucky to secure a bookingCosy decor, spacious bathroom, comfy bed and decent amenities. Welcoming and friendly staff.Food at the restaurant downstairs was superb. I tried cooked breakfast one morning and continental version next day, they were both very good. Dinner menu was great, after the first evening we decided not to look elsewhere and tried different dishes the following night.

What a meal!!!!!!!Hats off the chef and the team!!! The food I just had for dinner was INCREDIBLE - the texture, the taste the presentation.... This will now be my go-to place! Well done team (oh, and the wine selection is fantastic, we ordered this wine pictured, and it was superb)I highly recommend, hope you enjoy as much as I did :-)

Very average! I was holding high hopes for an experience that never happened. We booked Gilbey's for lunch on a Monday. On entering the restaurant we were ask if we booked. After giving our name we were pointed from the bar to our table "you're over there". The seating was cramped and table too small to hold any amount of drink or food. The staff seemed not to care about the struggle we had getting seated and made no effort to help. My wife was left sitting on her coat and my coat kept falling on the floor. I had to ask for somewhere to put my umbrella. My wife ordered an £11 cocktail which came in a plain champagne flute with no garnishing and looked very ordinary. Food service was rushed. We were offered bread while we waited for our starter and before we had even taken a bite of the bread our starters were brought to the table. When the mains came the plates were literally thrown on the table and my wife's almost toppling off the table. At no point of our visit were we asked how the food was and at no point asked if we wanted more drinks. The restaurant was not busy. This was proved by the staff standing around at the bar playing with their mobile phones. We got the bill and found we were charged £2.50 for two small slices of bread and a service charge which on reflection we should have disputed. To sum the experience up.The service was less than satisfactory. The food was very standard and no different to your average pub meal. Over priced and did not deliver on expectations. Such a shame that other establishments do a better job but do not get the recognition.

Had the most amazing meal here! Fantastic quality of food and interesting menu. The waitress was lovely and I am genuinely impressed. Would come back here as often as I can afford.

Christmas dinner on Saturday for about 15 of us. Great location and wonderful food, looked a nice restaurant but staff were really disinterested and rude. Food was delayed, we sat down at 8pm and had main course served at 10pm. Such a shame - I’m sure they’d had a busy day but that’s the job isn’t it. Something not right with the team or management.

Very good restaurant and would recommend. Highlighted by the fact that Tom Kerridge was eating in there at the same time as us. We went for the fixed price 2 course menu at £23. Excellent quality food, portion size was what you would expect from a quality restaurant.
