Gurkha Royale Restaurant & Bar in Windsor and Maidenhead

What a delightful place! The food is EXCELLENT, the staff KIND and FRIENDLY, the cocktails DELICIOUS. We have been ordering takeout from there for a while, this was the first time to actually get the chance to interact with the people who work there. Not only do they welcome you with bright smiles, they are generous and knowledgeable! Really lucky to live close to this place!

Before I start this review, I want to clarify I will be comparing the food here to their ability to authentically replicate Nepali and Indian cuisine.Let's start with the positives. The lamb meatballs was really good especially the gravy as was the Nepali thali style meal. Although I can't find the dish in the online menu, the dish in the restaurant menu was called a GR curry or something along the lines. The Daal was especially really good.Onto the negatives. Momo should never be a starter. Especially for the price of 7-8 pounds. Especially because they could have been made a lot better. The Chicken 65 dish was also a bit undercooked. The most disappointing dish however, was the saag lamb. There were clumps of wet solid spinach which should have been more gravy/paste like.Finally, I do want to add that the service was great and my only complaints are food related (although it is a bit pricier than your average Nepali restaurant).

Visited twice so far, and without question, some of the best food places you can go to.Their Veg. sharing platter starter is really good food choice and their Rice and Naan bread are exactly made as you ask - thin / thick / over done or normal. The staff is very helpful and exceed customer service mark.Will certainly recommend to anyone visiting Legoland or near by venues as the quality of food and atmosphere there is outstanding

Kudos to the staff; the food is consistently of high quality, and the flavours are authentic. I love their momos and Himalayan goat curry 🤤. I've always received excellent customer service from their staff, and I highly recommend this restaurant.

This is my favourite restaurant in Windsor, the food and drinks are amazing and the staff are very friendly. The menu has a good mixture of Eastern dishes, there is something for everyone to enjoy. I love the Himalayan curry!

Nice authentic food set in a beautifully modern setting. It was full for a Tuesday evening. 1 criticism would e to better train the waiters, there lack of knowledge of the menu showed. All 3 looked like trainee staff. Appart from that our group of 7 had an amazing night.

So in town for weekend, booked my table, didn't get confirmation phoned them they said they had the table sorted, turned up for my 7:30 table they didn't have the booking, told wait here (outside) will have a table soon, we sat down at a table at 8:50 to order. The food was bland for me and my partner who asked for her food to be mild had her mouth blown out. We finally finished/had enough left to £45 bill it was such shocking service and the night was horrible start to finish. As I write this from my toilet as you guessed it I have had explosive diarrhoea. How is this the best Indian I'm sloughSlight update that has continued throughout the night I'm still sick, with a 2 hour drive home to come weekend ruined

Absolutely love this restaurant. The food is always well prepared and served. Couple this with friendly super efficient waiting staff, its a perfect recipe....just wish it was closer to home!

my friend pointed out this has been voted best restaurant in the areabut i was dubious and I was rightit was very disappointingthe food wasnt that great the saag paneer was not saag but some watery spinachthe rice was over doneonly thing edible was the cheese naanmy friend enjoyed his chow meini wouldn't go again

Windsor the best Oriental food in Berkshire, food is out of this world, friendly staff lovely Cousy restaurant. Strongly recommended to all my friends and familyWith very acceptable prices.
