I can only give this hotel one star. The hotel is beautiful & the staff seemed lovely, however there was no air conditioning in the room. We stayed on a hot day during ascot. There was only a dyson fan in the room (which done nothing) so my husband and I could not sleep at all. We actually felt sick with how warm it was in the room. We couldn’t open the windows as they also put us in a room that faces on to the generators at the back of the hotel, where they empty glass bottles etc…I ended up having to sleep on the bathroom floor…for £400 per night. The hotel had never been up front about there being no air conditioning in the room. After we spoke to reception they told us only half the hotel had been fitted with air conditioning but the other half had not been done in time for summer season. The hotel SHOULD not allow bookings to be made in the old rooms, or at least tell the guests prior so they can make a decision. After speaking to management they gave us 20% off the bill. A nice gesture but not enough rectify this horrible stay.To anyone reading this please ensure you contact the hotel before your stay and ensure they don’t put you in an old room!

Went for a wedding. Quite a scenic venue with a nice water feature. Rooms were clean but not grand and beds were comfortable. Staff were notably very attentive. One of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had.

Lovely wedding setting. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff were attentive mostly. Grounds and gardens are fabulous and so peaceful. Minus one star for carpet stains and no lift - and no offer of help to carry baby Pushchair up a flight of stairs!

It appears to be a lovely venue. We booked directly with the hotel confirming with reception that dogs were welcome prior to booking, and they were permitted in the bar (and we were told restaurant also). However we arrived and were informed the dog is only permitted in the room. The management team need to ensure the staff deliver a consistent message. They to their credit refunded the booking in full.

We had a lovely stay there over a weekend to visit the Great Windsor park and castle. Rooms were a little dated but comfortable. Pillows were a bit of a let down, though. Staff was helpful and friendly. Breakfast, not so good, I don't actually recommend getting it there; pastries were tired and hot options like scrambled eggs were dry and had stand reheating for too long most likely.

Aside from the beautiful grounds and space, the standout for me personal was the staff. They are excellent and went out of their way to help us in anyway possible. Always friendly and pleasant. Great place for an event or a business meeting. Highly recommended.

Three of us had Afternoon tea here. Lovely table setting by the windows overlooking the large grounds of the Royal Berkshire. The service, drinks and food were very tasty and plentiful. The option was there if we required more tea or sandwiches. Had a walk around the grounds afterwards and thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon here.

The hotel is so nice, but the food is absolute disgrace. I tried to have english breakfast ... mushrooms looked like they were microwaved, been tasted like wet dirty wipe, eggs were tasteless. I went for lunch and asked is there anything that chef is preparing freshly. I was told most of the food is bought frozen, like fish fingers and fishcakes. And there is no freshly made food what so ever. So I ordered thick cut chips. Those were served to me within a minute. Meaning they were just heated ... And the taste did resemble of heated chips and were not possible to eat.So for dinner I did not risk and ordered food delivery. I wanted to call reception, but my phone was out of order. The other thing, I ordered a fancy, open space large room. I left a note I am coming with my pet. Only when I was standing at reception, I was told that with pets they allow only ground floor rooms. I am still shocked that no one called me and warned me that hotel wont be giving me a nice room. Instead, I was place in a compact room for 2 nights, on my birthday ...

Beautiful building and grounds. We had lunch in the bar area. Good selection of food to choose from, although not cheap. You are paying for the experience. I liked the fact they didn't rush us, but on the other hand we had to go and find someone each time we wanted to order and to pay. They said they where very busy and that was the reason. I would go again if it was a special occasion

We had our wedding reception at Royal Berkshire and it was amazing!! It is a lovely venue, with beautiful grounds and great photo opportunities!Cheyenne in particular was so incredibly helpful from start to finish and particularly during a time of having to postpone due to covid! She was professional, very supportive in dealing with my constant emails and made the process of having to postpone as stress free as possible! On the day itself, the team were very welcoming, helpful and did such a fantastic job in setting up the room. A lot of our guests commented on how beautiful it looked! We would highly recommend Royal Berkshire!
