The rooms and furniture were dated and hotel in general was in need of a makeover. The bathroom was new, but the shower was awful and they did not even have spare toilet rolls. The Spa is attached to the hotel but communication between the two is very poor. The spa has a non existent booking system which can be changed by anyone. We booked 4 spa treatments months in advance, but 2 were cancelled a few days before due Covid. In fact they even cancelled our rooms without any consultation. The spa rearranged treatments twice but then also cancelled both, on the day. The spa was nice but small, the treatments may make up for it but my sister and I will never know as we didn't get a treatment.Breakfast between 8 and 10am, was also ill-prepared, with many guests waiting for food. All in all, we will not be returning.

This review makes me a little sad to write, and it's a real game of two halves. We stayed here as a birthday treat from my partner, and I was really looking forward to it. It was a trip back to my hometown, and it was also the hotel where my parents had their wedding reception 55 years ago.The receptionist was clearly having a stressful time; we stood waiting nearly 10 minutes while he was on the phone to someone, and not once did he look and make eye contact to even acknowledge we were there. When he did finally check us in, he didn't offer any information on breakfast times or ask if we were hoping to use the Spa facilitiesThe room was lovely, spotlessly clean and comfortable, but everything after that was a letdown .Nothing was replenished in our room during our 2-night stay, not the tea, coffee ,bottled water, or even loo roll. Managed to grab one of those from outside the cleaning cupboard where it was piled up at the bottom of our stairwell. We went down to the bar to check out the restaurants evening menu before deciding whether to eat there or go out. It was a very limited menu, only 5 or 6 main courses, so we decided against it but thought we'd have a drink anyway. Waited ages for anyone to come and serve at the bar and when he did he appeared not to have a spirits measure so my partners vodka was far too strong and he wasn't offered the remainder of his coke bottle to top up, that went behind the bar somewhere. He would have asked for it, but on tasting it, it was flat, and the bar man had disappeared again anyway, so we left the drinks and went out, ÂŁ15 wasted! The room was lovely, so we had a comfortable couple of nights sleep, but sadly, breakfast was as dismal as the bar. It was laid out as a help yourself buffet, which I really liked, but there was no choice of eggs, scrambled or nothing. Everything, including tea and coffee, was lukewarm at best. This was the case on both mornings ,Friday and Saturday,so I don't think we could have been unlucky twice. The nicest bit was the toast, and we cooked that ourselves!Upon checking out, we weren't offered any of the usual pleasantries. 'I hope you had a nice stay. I hope to see you again,' that kind of thing, just an "OK, nothing extra to pay"It's such a shame for such a lovely looking hotel, it could be fabulous!I can't comment on the Spa other than the girl working there was extremely friendly as I passed her a couple of times in reception.

I am giving this hotel a 5 star review despite being a bit tired in places. The facilities were great and the room big and spacious. We used the pool sauna and steam too which were a bonus . We ate there and couldn't fault the food either. The staff were super helpful and friendly and it seems like they enjoy working there. Would recommend

Stayed at Fredrick’s Hotel, Restaurant & Spa in Maidenhead this weekend for a spa weekend and never felt more disappointed staying anywhere in my life. This was meant to be a spa weekend and we couldn't use the spa at all as the water was freezing, we asked multiple times about it and were constantly being told it was being heated up which never happened. No hot water in our rooms at all so had to wash with cold water this weekend/use baby wipes. Changed rooms twice, hair dryer never worked, no heating, portable heaters in room, lights flickering on and off. Second day no heated spa again all day after being told it's now working and being heated, went for our back massages to see baby oil was being used, no music was played and constant dripping tap throughout and was far from relaxing.Completely under staffed with none of them besides one of the managers who was lovely knowing what to do and how to handle any of it.Rooms are dated, dark and not the cleanest.I've never ever felt more disappointed and deflated. I was looking forward to a nice relaxing spa weekend after with my friend, taking the weekend off work to just sleep in a dark, dated room and not being able to wash properly all weekend and not use the spa. Would not recommend staying here at all and if I could give it less then 1 star I would. A refund is being issued to us as agreed by the hotel.

Worst place I have probably stayed. Booked through a wowcher deal and it looked lovely, little did we know that after driving 3 hours it would be so bad.Rooms were dated and so dark, barely any lighting at all and had random lamps placed all over the room. There is barely any staff anywhere in the building. Had no hot water in the room, the spa was freezing cold, and being 9 months pregnant I couldn’t use the sauna or steam room, which had “no steam” according to staff. They said multiple times they were turning the heating on, but my guesses are they just kept saying that to keep everyone sweet, as I couldn’t even have a bath in my own hotel room. What was meant to be a romantic valentines getaway turned into one of the worst places I’ve visited. So many people complained that they instantly refunded everyone as they checked out the next morning and haven’t heard anything since. To my surprise the phone is just ringing, which doesn’t shock me as there was nobody at the front desk while we were there to deal with any problems. Food was limited. Breakfast was awful, the hash browns were just left soggy in the heated Tin and were falling apart as you tried to pick them up. Wouldn’t recommend staying at all. If I’m being completely honest I’d book your local premier inn as in my experience of hotels a premier inn was much better than this and I’m not sure how they are 4 stars.

This is shocking for a spa day,The pictures are made to seem like it has lovely facilities. You are more than likely let down for any treatment if a therapist is unable to do it. They rely on a lot of agency therapists. We were left waiting 6 hours to get a definite no for some of our group to get their massage already paid for! Staff didn’t seem like they knew how to handle it all and there was not a manager on site or even answering phone to support. The list is endless from this day out that was meant to be lovely.

Despite with the Spa being closed - the hotel overall was fantastic! My Hotel Room was a beaut and even had a desk for me to work! The scenery going to breakfast and dinner was stunning too! Thank you to the receptionist for looking after me during my stay (and for helping me with my printing!) and to the waiter who was there (don’t know his name!) but for most of my stay too - you were incredible and really lovely!! Food was stunning too - 5* too! Thank you everyone at Fredricks! I can’t wait to be back soon! you guys are amazing!

Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. My partner and I have spa breaks every month. The room was dirty with cob webs on ceiling, no water in the room either. As for dinner, the menu we were given want what was advertised. My partner couldn’t eat any of the starters. Roast turkey that had clearly been sat under a hot plate for hours. The roast potatoes were double cooked and had hair on it. When i asked to speak to a manager I was advised there were none onsite and not planning on any being around for a few days. I was offered a complimentary bottle of wine as way of an apology. I spoke to several other couples who booked tables in other restaurants but again were appalled by the service and quality. The spa it’s self was fairly well kept although they seemed to be extremely understaffed. Cocktails were lovely although over priced. Absolutely dreadful-save your money!!

This is definitely a three stars hotel rather than four. The bathroom needs to be renewed. No water bottles or flips were provided in the room. The pool was so cold, although it said to be heated. Spa amenities need to be renewed. The breakfast was just an English breakfast that lacked salt. Best thing was the main courses in the dinner. They were outstanding. Brownie was dry.

I went to the spa back in 2019. It was lovely and I had a very good memory of that day. On Sunday, I was surprised with a "tea and treatment" gifted at this place, I was really looking forward to it.Once in the changing area, it looked filthy. The mirror lamps are broken, they were some dirty stains here and there... some toilet papers on the floor (they stayed on the floor the whole afternoon). I went to the pool area…. The pool was FREEZING. I went back to reception and was told the heaters in the swimming pool were broken… The pool area was dusty, pillows on the floor here and there, the black marbles looked uncleaned for a good while.I decided to then go to the hammam … three tiles on the floor missing right at the entrance.Later in the afternoon, I slipped on the corridor, my arm banged the closed by door. I said it to reception “oh sorry”, a lady put a towel on the floor and that was it. Then I went to the toilet…. It was clogged! I went back to the reception and just mentioned that I feel like the quality of the overall spa was degrading. No answer.I then had my treatment which was fabulous. I wanted to take a shower there, but there were empty shampoo/shower gel bottles laying there (I would say at least 10). Decided I will shower at home as I didn’t want to stay any longer. I was really surprised because this place WAS amazing two years ago.The day after, I decided that after all, it is better to give them a feedback face to face rather than a google review. The manager wasn’t there but I left my phone number and my email address to the receptionist, also explaining about how I slipped and hurt my arm (still hurt to this day but it’s just a bruise, nothing more luckily).I never got a phone call or an email. Shame really.2 stars because the treatment was fabulous, and so was the afternoon tea. The rest is disgusting, unhygienic, not covid safe. The place needs a revamp. AT LEAST, please mop the place, clean the toilets REGULARLY, and fix the broken items.
