Shire Horse in Windsor and Maidenhead

Looks like a proper pub/restaurant on arrival. Friendly staff, good selection of gins and quality tonic too. Good menu, something for every taste. No complains from the 4 of us, 4 different dishes over 3 courses. Upper end cost pub/restaurant.

Staff are very friendly, professional, speak highly of the food and pub and from what I've observed they also go above and beyond what should be expected. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced. The toilets were clean and tidy.My table was a bit wobbly but I didn't mention it at the time. I'm sure they would have rectified it immediately if I had. No complaints at all. I highly recommend this place.Will be back for Sunday lunch which was recommended by one of the waitresses. I was advised to make sure I book a table because it is so popular.My new favourite pub! :D

Shockingly poor service and a lazy attitude to customer service. The bar staff were nice and the beer selection good but the food took 1hr 25mins to arrive and when it did finally arrive there was no apologies for the lateness of the food. Food was look warm at best and the beef my father in law ordered was fatty and hadn’t been trimmed.Really not good but worsened by the fact the serving staff showed no real interest to whether our meal was late/cold/both.We had to fetch our own cutlery and condiments!!I won’t return. Suggest you look at evaluating your staff and kitchen

Just a very nice pub with very friendly and helpful staff, good food and reasonable prices. Not gourmet dining but decent honest food well prepared and nicely presented. Will happily go back again.

We often go to chef and brewer restaurants as it is the only option according to our taste we can eat out with our tesco vouchers. Usually the atmosphere is good. But this Shire horse has won and beat the rest by far. Our favourite was the chefs specials menu which allowed us a surprisingly different experience than the other restaurants. The staff is by far the most friendly and professional of any of the other ones we have been to. Loves the fire place and the music xx thanks. Will be back soon

It’s a great place for food, drink or having a congenial meet-up with friends. The food is well cooked and a great choice on the menu. The service is excellent at the bar and in the restaurant alike with a good ambience.

Food very tasty but had to wait over 1 hour for it to come after ordering it.

Had a lovely meal and catch up with the girls here. To start there is a large easily accessible carpark. We were welcomed in by a friendly waitress.Had a main and dessert with a midweek meal deal. Food was pretty good. Came fairly quickly and was freshly prepared.The restaurant was clean, well kept and run. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Good covid precautions were in place.
