Thatched Tavern in Windsor and Maidenhead

Absolutely wonderful gastropub in Ascot. The weather was perfect and fortunately for us it was not very busy (early dinner) so we had almost the whole beer garden to ourselves. Service was exceptional, and there is ample parking on site although it did seem busy when we left. Highly recommended!

We stopped for lunch on our walk of The Great Park to find a pleasant pub in a picturesque setting. Surprisingly spacious with several interlinked rooms around a generous bar. Just the two cask ales on when we visited and the one sampled was well conditioned and served by friendly staff. Small but sufficient menu. Food was well cooked and presented. An excellent lunch ... Worth another visit. A little on n the expensive end.

Lovely little pub. Roast lamb was great(could have done with extra potatoes), my partners burger order turned up wrong, issue was corrected straight away however came with a diffrent bun to advertised & tasted dry(I'm guessing they cooked it quickly so he didn't have to wait long). Friendly service but took a while to take drinks & then food order. Would definitely reccomend for a Sunday roast if you aren't in a rush.

This review is for the service only, the food was great apart from our 2 burgers which were very under done. Booked in for 1pm for a Sunday roast for 10 people and we left at 5pm - we waited and waited and waited - we did get 2 bottles of red and a free banana split as a gesture of goodwill but this was an 80th birthday celebration - not impressed!! Wouldn’t go back I’m afraidUPDATE:After reading your responce i'm disappointed that you feel the need to try and BLAME your customers for your lack or service?Your right it did take 30 mins to select our meals but had you said that there was a time limit then we would of chosen quickly, your running a restaurant do you not anticipate for these types of issues? It was just the lack of communication from your servers that was the issue, we finished our 1st course and had to wait a while for it to be taken away then a chesse board turned up after an hour and we all said we were waiting for our mains, then several different staff came and said that it was coming - it was all just very disorganisedThe gentleman who settled the bill also expressed his dissapointment with the service as they had been many times before with no issues and this occasion was tainted by the lack of service.

We were looking around the area for somewhere to eat as we don't know the area very well and we are so glad we found this place. Its absolutely beautiful inside, the old beams and fireplaces are such a nice touch- and the food totally surpassed our expectations. It was one of the best sunday roast I've ever had. Next time we come back, it definitely won't be by chance!

Very cosy! Despite forgetting our booking they managed to fit us in. Elbow room was tight. Food was amazing and good size portions - especially the lamb! Service was also lovely & friendly. Great historic items displayed around the walls. Added bonus was snow!

The service and atmosphere was lovely. The watermelon and feta starter was great, unfortunately the roast was very tough and my daughter's roast chicken was too dry. The soup she said was delicious. My husband had scampi and fish which he said was delicious. The cheesecake was delicious and the ice-cream portions were found to be very small.

I took my wife here last night for her birthday. It was a great night, the staff were fantastic, the waitress who served us was very friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, I had their Duck Scotch egg which was gorgeous, followed by their Beef Wellington which was also amazing. I can not recommended this place highly enough. I will definitely be back for some more great food.

GREAT PLACE!! if you are around the area, you cannot miss this old Tavern with amazing food and lovely staff. The owner is really kind and take care of every detail. If something I will miss when I am back in Spain, is this place! 😍
