In a nice location in Cookham. Has several dining rooms inside and a lovely garden with seating outside. Good service from the waiting staff and the food was tasty. I had the pork belly which came with a good selection of veg plus Yorkshire pud and crackling. Lovely gravy. Option of a mini dessert with tea or coffees. Asked for tap water which didn't come but I didn't really miss it. Also no option for ice cream or custard with mini dessert. Prices reasonable for Cookham

Super nice pub with lots of cozy areas to tuck yourself away in. Really lovely service, they were understanding about our noisy toddler and provided crayons and paper to keep him occupied. Food was good, would have liked a bit more spice on the salt and Szechuan pepper squid but it was beautifully cooked. My husband loved his pizza and my veg curry was super tasty.

Great service, decent food, reasonable prices. Good sized carpark. Attentive staff. We enjoyed our meal there with some locals, very happy to go there again.

Mothers Day.Went with my daughter and wife for Mothers day, very busy and a deposit taken when you book. Fair enough. On arrival seated quickly and the general feel of the place is good, lots of staff about. The drinks order and food order were taken in good time. That's were the good bits end I'm afraid. Starters came out very slowly. I had the mushrooms and bread, bland ,small portion. My wife and daughter had the brie in crumbs. Average at best. The main course took a long long time, it was busy so not a shock. The order of chateaubriand was extra ,we went for it and ordered medium rare ,my daughter had a burger. The beef was overdone, medium +, the outside was burnt, the roast potatoes were anemic and had the extra cauliflower cheese, again burnt....My daughter burger was dry and overcooked. Dessert was ordered, I had cheese, that was chilled but ok. My wife had chocolate brownie, that was very nice, and my daughter had creme brulee that was also nice, not crisp top but ok. So yes was Mothers day and very busy, but food was not good, we didn't complain as my daughter would have been embarrassed. But definitely wouldn't recommend.

Pretty disappointing. We came for a special occasion lunch on a weekday and left very underwhelmed. While the plating of the food was pretty, unfortunately that's where it ended. The lunch salads sounded great on the menu but essentially what appeared on my plate was a pile of raw vegetables with some peashoots and duck dumped on top. No attempt to dress anything except the duck. The place is beautifully decorated and would have a nice atmosphere at the weekend but is let down by the halfhearted attempts by the kitchen. We will not be returning.

Food was good but the staff need some training. Main course and desserts slow to come out but what I found most unprofessional was seeing a staff member having their lunch in the restaurant...while we were waiting for our meal.

Love the food, love the drinks. Always friendly staff. Great place for a catch up with friends, family get togethers, celebration meals, any excuse to visit!! Brilliant place, my favourite in the village 🙂👍

Booked a table for 3 for Sunday roast on 6th of feb. Booking was for 3pm and we got there at 3:10pm. We requested a table by the fireplace and we didn’t get it. No problem. Anyways ordered the roast. Brie to share for starters which took 45 minutes. Hour and 25 mins on, still no mains. We then got moved from our table because there was a table of 9 reservation. We got told there’s a table turnover policy but we wouldn’t be there if we had got our food? We then got reminded we were late lol. Anyways food showed up cold after all that wait which ofcourse we sent back. They didnt charge us for food. Charged us for drinks and no apology. Lost a loyal customer. It was embarrassing. Kelly the manager was nowhere to be seen after she moved our table.

A gem of a village pub, would rate more than five stars! Exceptional service from the young waiters, very accommodating and astute, expecially Becky who asked how we would like our food cooked, and asked if we had any alergys, I was very impressed, sat in the lovely sunny beer garden, social distancing was adhered to, food was on par to a mitchelin star status, perfect presentation, the flavours and tectures blended in exceptionally well, divine, obviously we're be back, highly recommend
