Please if you value your loved ones Do Not send them to this care home you may be bowled over by the look of the lovely grounds and the reception you receive on first visiting but it doesn’t hide the fact that serious problems lay beneath only now 6 months on am I able to write this review due to the upset our family have endured many things I could say but for now I hope this helps when making the difficult decision of having to choose a care home for a parent

Unfortunately I had the honour working for this place I’m disgusted how they treat there staff, bullying and the attitude is totally unprofessional how they talk to new staff members to, you expect some level of training and some effort also being patient to with learning new things and knowing different tasks what’s involved. Linda and also Kaye’s attitude towards me isn’t professional nor any fun also Leanne demanding I took my gloves off in the corridor where clients could see, when I said I can’t because of myself having a nut allergy and I should wear gloves for my protection and also knowing health and hygiene handling food and drinks to different patients also with Covid virus still at large currently. Kaye ,Linda and Leanne all need to change their attitude towards new staff. As they don’t explain things to me when I’ve asked either how can I be expected to learn when I’m not being given the opportunity to learn in the correct manor. Linda and Kaye also Kelvin don’t seam to believe me that I have a reaction to nuts as it makes my breathing difficult and gives me a big red Blochy marks over me which takes time to go away but it’s a awful feeling I have to. And makes me extremely hot to having this reaction. I absolutely love the job and working doing my very best for different clients but the managers seam to be constantly causing me unnecessary stress upset, As if the job isn’t hard enough and stressful with different obstacles with the care of patients that can change in the bling of an eye with health conditions changing. Job in care is totally unprickable and very rewarding if you have the right staff with the adaquite training plan. And to think family’s are paying a huge amount of money weekly for family members when they don’t know their families are being served hot plates but cold food toast , hotdogs and spaghetti hoops which I certainly don’t expect clients to be made to eat . No option or choice either, My warning to everyone avoid this home as it’s not as pleasant as you think. Probably would be in much better place if Linda , Kaye, and Leanne was told to leave due to lacking in skills. And there bullying behaviour towards new staff. Quite honestly I found them quite intimidating and not interested or helpful in any way.

Appalling - avoid this "care" home like the plagueFeel free to contact me with any questionsEdit: 13th February 2020Having read some of the glowing reports from people who say their relatives are/have been well looked after, I would suggest that they are either very trusting individuals (as we were for a few months until it became evident that all was not as it seemed) OR, perhaps some (not all) of these 5* reviews are not from real relatives of the inmates, sorry residents.I notice that one of the reviewers says not to trust the negative reviews. It's very important to balance that advice by saying that it is also not a good idea to trust the glowingly positive reviews either.I now know that staff were certainly not happy/well managed during my grandmother's time there, indeed some of them were wholly unsuitable for this type of job - caring for people and handling them gently.I also personally witnessed other residents, clearly distressed and left to wander up and down the corridors. After we managed to get my grandmother transferred to another care home (where she immediately gained weight and was immeasurably happier), some staff from the Manor were brave enough to talk to me about the true situation and it completely validated our concerns.I should add that while my grandmother was there, CQC actually rated the place as 'Good', which we found astounding, especially as the detailed CQC report contradicted almost everything we'd experienced and how my grandmother was treated. The CQC then amended their rating to 'Requires Improvement', so goodness knows what things are like now - the CQC are VERY generous with their ratings because if a care home is deemed unacceptable, where are all the residents going to be placed? As I stated in my original review, if anyone would like evidence, then I am happy to provide it - anything to prevent what happened to my grandmother whilst she was there.

For over three years now, Kaye and the wonderful staff at The Manorhave shown the greatest respect, compassion and kindness to mydear old Dad. The staff are really good, hard working people. They are professional and caring. The Manor is beautifully situatedwith lovely grounds. The building itself, is new, well designed, clean and has every modern convenience and i consider that we were fortunate that there was a room available. I did view other homes that did not compare so well. I sincerely do think it's a care home to recommend. They do their best for Dad and i thank them all.

The person who's written the negative reports obviously has a grudge against the Home and shouldn't be taken seriously. I visit very regularly and have experienced nothing but great care and kindness given to residents and visiting relatives. The staff work extremely hard and great attention is administered to each and everyone's individual needs. The grounds are beautiful and well kept and the rooms are spacious and sympathetically furnished .Activities are varied and well-thought out to cater for different interests. I've always felt very welcome when visiting and the two relatives I have there are content and happy.

I have two relatives residing at The Manor and, as they have different forms of dementia they have differing needs. The staff are trained to help care for residents based on their individual needs so my Aunt chooses to stay in her room whereas my mother has enjoyed numerous activities and excursions and her quality of life has improved beyond measure.Under the professional and caring leadership of the manager, The Manor is constantly implementing initiatives to improve the health and wellbeing of the residents. We have peace of mind knowing our relatives are in a safe, caring and happy environment.

All I can say is not to believe all the reviews, my Father stayed in this care home, the nurses, care nurses and the manager went out of their way to make sure my dad was comfortable. He was only there for just over a month and a half before he sadly passed away, the staff there made sure he was as pain free as possible but not only that, they made sure I was ok too, they even made a room up for me in the last few days so I could be by his side. I cannot rate everyone there highly enough. When my father passed away, they arranged for the funeral directors to come and when we left the everyone made a formation to wave my father goodbye. Very moving and meant the world to me and my wife. I had no worries or fears for my father to stay here.

(used to work there) definitely not slagging off just saying my perspective and my truth.all i can say to the people that gave 5 stars that you don't know that all these good things that happened to your relatives are NOT due to Kaye and the management..they are accomplished because of the hard working carers that get paid 8 pounds an hour. Plus obviously you don't see the hole picture as your not there all the time. Some of the staff are treated not very nice and professional. There is lack of good management but the caring side Is so good cause of the good people that work there. So you can praise all you want the home but that's to the people that are genuinely caring etc. Carers, activity people, even cleaners are amazing.. they're pretty much carers as well and trust me you don't know they're story and how much money they get paid..as far as Kaye..she is the type of person that she'll pretend she'll listen to you and then persuade you to do her will when it comes down to do something for you. Or she will treat you like a 🐕 ( Monti come here, Monti come on) do this do that..no genuine thank you..just that fake intonation in her voice.. not even smile but thats just Monday to Friday..which is a relief. Weekends are awesome in this place because it's such a good vibe.. seriously.

The care and attention given to my elderly aunt and mother is outstanding. The staff are very well trained have wonderful empathy when dealing with the residents. This is an extremely well run home and I would gladly recommend it. Jeremy Piper

Whenever I visit the staff are more than helpful. I have a disability and they do all they can to make my visits comfortable. There is such a pleasant atmosphere that it is always a pleasure to go and see my mother in law. Thank you to Kaye and all her staff.
