Had a great meal on Sunday. The roast both beef and lamb were good well. The burger was juicy and tasty. Would definitely recommend. The service was with a smile from all the team.

·

Fab place for brunch. Nice range of options including vegetarian and vegan.

Just awful! The starters were terrible (Malaysian satay is smaller bites and not a packaged peanut sauce but a crunchy fresh one! (We've both lived extensively in Malaysia)).The mains were worse (Who grills a gem lettuce???)The 2 for 1 cocktails are a normal cocktail divided by 2 into plastic glasses. The ONLY reason this doesn't get 1 star is the staff. A great older French man and a lovely younger black girl, but (for £115 without wine and leaving after 1 hour .....? Just terrible.

I love dining at The Tablespoon! It is a friendly and relaxed restaurant. The food is always excellent. With a great range to choose from. The drinks selection is also good. The service is great. A very comfortable place to visit. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

We love this place and we've never had a bad meal or brunch there. But yesterday was very disappointed to be charged extra for black pudding when it was requested and agreed when placing the order to swap both the tomatoes and mushrooms in one of the breakfasts to a black pudding. Finding the extra charge on the bill ruined the experience. Moreso when you added service charge on top!

We were made welcome on arrival and all the staff were friendly. The food was excellent, we enjoyed the delicate flavours of the lamb shank, and the sea bass.

Had a wonderful meal here with my wife and grandfather. Found the place on TripAdvisor and thought we'd give it a go.There's not much parking at the place, but we managed to find a spot round the back. The place could be easily missed if you're coming from the train station, but stands out clearly from the other direction. The inside was nice and cool on a hot day and we were surprised that it was so empty on a Saturday lunch. The owner recommended a few dishes on the menu and we were delighted at the many options there were, especially some Asian dishes which provided a nice alternative to your typical English restaurant food.To start I had the Prawns al Diabolo, which was recommended by the owner. The prawns were well spiced in a medium hot oil. It came with small slices of baguette which were perfect for dipping into the oil. My wife had the deep fried brie which came with a cranberry sauce, which I of course had a bite of - delicious! For mains my grandfather had the fish and chips, which was a good portion and he was raving about it after the meal so it must have been good! I managed to steal a few of his chips and they were just the way I like them: crispy on the outside and like creamy mashed potatoes on the inside.I had the masala fish with paratha, which was perfectly spiced. In fact my wife, who usually turns her nose up at restaurants attempting Asian spices, remarked that it was almost as good as her mother's, who grew up in Pakistan. The parathas were a great accompaniment to the fish, and were nice and flakey. The salad that came with the fish was also well seasoned and went well with the masala on the fish.My wife had the pan fried salmon which I am told was delightful and perfectly cooked with a nice accompanying sauce. We couldn't pass up on dessert and we're glad we didn't. We had coffees, a mango cheesecake, and sticky toffee pudding, all which were very tasty. The one thing that made this place stand out was the owner who clearly cares about the place and was so friendly and passionate about his menu. Definitely a place that I will be returning to in the future.
