Accommodation was clean, comfortable & warm. The buffet breakfast which was available at an extra cost was excellent & great value for money. My only disappointment was in the bar where there were hand pumps but with no beer connected to them. Keg beer & lagers were available on tap and bottled beers out of a refrigerator, but sadly no cask beer. We therefore chose to go elsewhere for the evening.

You can't beat a good roast dinner midweek!! Overall good, but dinner could've been hotter. Veg selection not as good as it used to be, and not much meat offered. However, still reasonable value for money and great staff.

Nicely redecorated and dealt with our group of 29 classic car enthusiasts so well on our visit last Sunday for breakfasts, staff very pleasant, quality of food at the buffet seems much improved.

Table not ready, then forgot us when it was. No waitress for ages, but nice when arrived. No starters available, short staffed. Had to ask for meat at the counter. Very small portion, had king size two bits of gammon, not even a slice, beef was the end bitsno gravy, or any sauces mint, cranberry or apple. My cauliflower cheese was very hard and cold vegetarian option. My husbands meat was cold. Sausages solid could not cut them. Yorkshire puddings were lovely.

Went for a carvery on their half price offer. Very busy due to this. Susan our waitress was very friendly and helpful but she had too many tables to give us the service that we have had from her before. I was drinking iced water and she did not mention I could help myself to this from the machine so I had one small glass with my whole meal. We both had roast beef (extra large). They now use a cheaper cut of meat than they used to which means it is not very lean. I had to leave a lot of mine as I do not eat fatty meat. It was good value for half price but would not visit again to pay full price (unless I wanted a different meat).

A very nice atmosphere and cheerful staff are let down by below average food and dry meat. The selection of vegetables is poor, but the gravy is delicious. Good value meal, but don't go expecting the best.

Visited for our Boxing day festive lunch.I have been visiting for several years now and have never been disappointed. If you are the type of person who likes the carvery experience and filling your plate with good food this is definitely the place for you.The staff are very attentive and friendly and the quality of the food is excellent.Give it a try , especially if you are feeling hungry.

My husband and I had wonderful roast lunch. Choosing beef, which was the best we have ever tasted! All vegetables were fresh and plentiful. The young carver, who was usually from a different Toby, was friendly and very kind. A great treat for us,as we haven't been eating out much this last two years.

This was my second visit and the staff was friendly on both occasions. The first visit around 3 pm and the last visit before noon, so this review covers both. upgraded to the bigger sized portion which had a couple of slices more of meat, chipolata and 2 Yorkshire. The meat was dry especially as I don't have gravy, but still tasty and vegetables overcooked and the sliced potato dish slightly undercooked. Mash dried out and had the consistency of cement, which could have been rescued with some butter splash of milk or cream. macaroni cheese sauce tasted like it was made off-site and reminded me of value product you buy in the supermarket.Thought veg was prepared and cooked from the previous day. Though would not have been made it to the hotplate. And just held for reheating in the kitchen.Overall I now know what to avoid in regards to macaroni and mash and manage my expectations in regards to dry meat, and overcooked veg. Would have loved to see cranberry and apple sauce available.I will be back as the price is reasonable, staff friendly and the ambience is nice

Great Sunday Roast. Affordable, friendly staff, upgraded to the King Size meal and got an extra Yorkshire Pudding and 2 chipolatas. The meat was tasty and the Roast Potatoes in beef dripping gravy were sublime.
