We really like Kayal. The food is yum. Best Indian in the area..closest to what you get back in India. Service is decent - but it's mostly the food that gets us going back.

The food is very delicious and the price is reasonable. The grilled fish as a starter is my favorite although it’s a bit spicy. The king prawn starter is also very nice. We ordered a main- chicken stew in coconut sauce, this is probably not the best main for strong taste people as it is quite mild. Compared with amazing starter the main is so so. In terms of the price this meal is definitely worth the value. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Overall, considering everything 5 out of 5 dining experience in this restaurant.

Such a wonderful evening at an absolutely authentic Kerala restaurant with delicious Appam and Stew, that's not so commonly available even in Mumbai! Pineapple Kesari was an absolute delight not to mention a wide choice of wines. Chef came out to chat with us , an the waiter, Jill, was exceptional.

Good food, very nice service by Mr. Joshy and good location. One of the few authentic Kerala restaurants in the UK. Quick and efficient service, reasonably large portions, prices bordering on the near expensive, nice ambience, good location and free parking in the adjacent streets after 6 PM

Amazing experience at this authentic south Indian restaurant. Having had the chance to visit Kerala as part of a cruise excursion it was lovely to see the cuisine again. Staff were attentive and service was efficient. Very different to your typical Indian restaurant. Give it a try.

Not sure we had a pleasant experience at Kayal Byfleet this week after making an hour’s drive each way to get from where we live!We previously visited Leamington Spa restaurant which didn’t disappoint us, hence dined without looking at any reviews. To start with, it took 15-20mins and couple of chases to get someone to take our drinks order. Food also took its own sweet time to arrive on a week day where only 20% of the tables were occupied.Food - Kerala cuisine??? You have really re-defined “keralan” food :D absolutely poor taste and not at all authentic. Check out the picture how Kerala porotta looks like, what was served to me is called pappadam where I come from ;oWill I visit again? Absolutely not, nor recommend to anyone.

Visiting kayal after 2 years gap, back in the days the menu had lot more items than what I seen today, I felt service could have been way better, felt customer service a little towards the downhill,. The food is good but some do lack flavours, price is on the high side for some dish when looking at the quantity. Overall good experience again but changing my previous 5 star to 4 🌟 based on today's experience. Certain areas needs improving and the old menu should be back to give that authentic kerala experience. Recommended

Kayal is am amazing place. Right near the train station. I went there during the social distancing times and can recommend this place to anyone who wants to go out and eat there with peace of mind. The tables are well spaced out and the guests are seated with enough distance between them. The staff wear their face masks. They are quite friendly and helpful. The chef was fantastic. Quite a few dishes were ordered and they were just fabulous. Highly recommended.
