Queens Head in Woking

The one star is because some bright spark thought they'd change the booking system which meant everyone could book in at the same time and 3pm Sunday was it...! We waited 1hr 15 mins for our food!!This is such a shame because we'd been several times before and the food is excellent. No complaints to the chefs or waiting staff, they were excellent.

Nice location with large car park, cozy restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. Food was good but prices were a bit higher than you would normally expect for a pub based restaurant such as this. I guess the question is when does it stop being a pub and become a restaurant.

Pre booked the table for a 96th birthday. Menu pretty uninspiring. The chicken burger was soggy and for over £15 came with a few chips and no other accompaniment. You’d get better in a fast food place. Fish and chips was over cooked and dry. Food really gone down hill. Service was acceptable but not overly attentive. Wine glass removed before finishing in a rush. Sadly will not be back. Many other places to have better quality meals. Pre Covid ate here regularly. A disappointing evening with an elderly person on their special day and first meal out!

Lovely, attentive but un-intrusive staff. Good atmosphere, comfortable enjoyable lunch. Food quality a little inconsistent from visit to visit.

This used to be my my favourite place to eat locally but it seems to have changed hands recently and has gone down hill. We both had battered cod chips and peas and a soda and lime. The service was friendly but slow. The fish was dry and shrivelled and the chips were lacklustre. Total bill £55 service included. Other friends have also told me that the quality of the food has deteriorated. Won’t be returning sadly.

So despite the menu actually being a bit hindered on our visit - not all ingredient were available - what I did order was fantastic. The chicken and ham hock pie was delicious, a perfect pie quite honestly. The other components (veg and mash) were also equally as yummy! Then for dessert, I had the apple crumble which was presented in a cute round bowl and was a heart-warming end to the meal. It is pricey but the cosy atmosphere and excellent dishes reveal why. Very pleasant and enjoyable meal indeed!

Arrived for a booked afternoon meal slot on Sunday 9th. As we were sat we were told that they needed to have the table back by 1615, and were constantly reminded about this for the entire time we were here. Spoiled our family reunion as we didn't relax as a result of being treated as bums on seats. When we asked for the dessert menu at 1545 we had to argue that we had enough time to eat it, I mean it's more £ for them. Sadly the waitress we had was superb and professional but the manager ruined our afternoon, and our bill of £120 for this experience left a sour taste in our mouths. 1st time visiting and will never return.

Wonderful lunch for 6 adults and a baby. Service was timely and well paced, as well as being very friendly. We will certainly be visiting again soon!

Enjoyed a great evening at The Queens Head, escaping the wind and rain for a table in front of the log burner. Both orders from the specials board were excellent, one being the lamb loin and the other swordfish. We booked our table online and paid the deposit, and this was already accounted for in the final bill. Great service and pleasant atmosphere, would visit again.

We had a lovely Sunday roast at this gem of a pub. My partner has the beef and I really enjoyed my vegetarian option. The sides were splendid and I loved that the veg was served separately so we could pick and choose our faves. Friendly staff in a cosy, calm setting. Can't wait to come back again soon.
