The Jolly Farmer in Woking

This used to be a lovely pub with great food. Sadly our visit was a disappointment. Once seated we asked the staff what bitters they had. They didn't know what a bitter was.... We got there in the end and got our drinks. The evening we visited was burger night. We ordered the the Jolly burger and the Boar burger. The brioche buns were dry, the burgers over charred and dry. Thin layer of cheese and one piece of cold and tasteless bacon. The chunky chips were the stars of the meal. Definitely not worth £15 each. So sad because its a lovely pub. Better food and more engaging and experienced staff will do the trick.

You need to update your food service and opening times on google and your website; we came on a Sunday at 5.30pm with the purpose of having dinner only to be told you stop serving food at 4pm (after ordering a round of drink)! Nowhere does it say you only serve food until 4pm, and the board outside says you serve lunch and dinner Monday- Sunday! Google says you're open until 7.30pm and your website 8pm. A wasted journey and hungry visitors. Oh and whilst sat in the garden finishing our drinks we were told we had to leave by 6.30... very confusing and not good service.

Food was good, very tasty. Service was poor, sat next to the bar and had to wait 10 minutes for our drinks. No attention from the staff after the food was served. Decor was unusual, looked like the aftermath of a party with empty bottles randomly placed around. Toilets clean and pleasant. Just needs a bit more effort.

This place had been recommended to us as we recently moved into the area. Overall the food was great and the pub itself was lovely. Unfortunately the service let it down. We were asked to seat ourselves despite reserving a table, had to keep going to the bar to ask for orders to be taken, plates taken from the table and drink orders despite being told that the pub serve on a table service basis. Shame really… as they weren’t particularly busy, if they were it would have perhaps been understandable.

Very friendly, awesome, great food and great atmosphere!The inside decor was so cool, it feels so warm and homely but cosy and spacious! I highly recommend anyone passing by to pop in and enjoy a drink, and feast on the food, which, was amazing!!!

We are regular users of this pub, usually following a dog walk. Phil and his team are always welcoming whether he greets existing or new patrons. And his staff work well together in order to provide the best experience for customers. I cannot imagine how difficult the last few years have been for all concerned (plus the pub sector as a whole) so being able to continue going to our favourite pub is great.Last weekend we met friends and had a lovely lunch - jacket potatoes which were cooked perfectly. Mine had tuna mayo, but hubby had prawn with Marie-Rose sauce which looked amazing. Apparently it tasted great too. Friends shared a pizza which looked good to us. This was apparently also good. These items were some from the Specials Board - but I think the Jacket Pots should be added permanently due to how brilliant they are.Hopefully this year, with slightly less restrictions for customers, the pub will once again become a hub of activity.For those that have reason to find fault, please report your issues at the time and allow the staff to rectify any problems. Then your visit can be improved so you enjoy it. If you feel the staff are not responding - then ask for the Manager. Leaving it until you have left does not give them a chance to turn a negative experience to a much better one.Good luck to all at the Jolly for a better 2022 than 2021 was.

Popped in for lunch as was in the area, warm friendly welcome at the bar, nice selection of beers and wines, good food menu and the food was well cooked, well presented and hot when it arrived at the table. Nothing was to much trouble. Recommended, will definitely return.

Sorry to say we had a bad experience here on Saturday. We booked a table for lunch - The pub was really cold - we were put on a table with a sticky surface & asked to be moved - we moved to a different table but this was wet as it had just been wiped but not dried. The food was really poor & cold - we were freezing - I asked for bread & got cold thick sliced bread out of a packet - we just had to leave without finishing - unfortunately we will never go back to this pub - The staff were not bad its just we were so cold & the food was terrible - Martin -

Very nice country Pub, very comfortable inside, big garden great in the summer. Food is quite good and tasty. Nice atmosphere with good service.

Lovely little country pub out the way. Parking is limited but managed to get a random spot in the mud. Food was good and timely and we have been here many times before. The pub was a little stretched staffing wise the poor staff were run off their feet as it was rammed. Tables were nicely spaced apart and covid safe. Weather was great so it was a very nice afternoon. Would always recommend this pub. Little path down the side if you fancy a 20 min walk to settle the roast.
