Miahs Spencers Wood in Wokingham

Tonight we went to Miah's Spencer Wood for a family get together.The whole experience from when we were greeted at the door was 5 Star.....if I could give them 6 Stars I would!The quality and flavour of all the dishes was authentic and tasty.The staff were very attentive and made sure we had everything we wanted.We were treated to a special dessert, which was heavenly and reminded me of previous visits to India.We always go back to Miah's and you should too if you want to have authentic Indian dishes.

Would not recommend Miah’s Spencer’s Wood.The food took over an hour and a half to arrive when it arrived they forgot two of the items and the rest were cold with layers of skin on the top after being sat under a heat lamp - image below.The food was also tasteless and plain (not what you’d expect from an Indian restaurant)Two of their staff were lovely and helpful but sadly one of their staff was rude and aggressive and really ruined it for them (the guy pictured below)He was rude abrupt and failed to listen when taking the order, he also got very aggressive when questioned about items on the menus and how certain deals work.To add insult to injury after hearing how unhappy we were they then had the audacity to ask for a 15% service charge.(On the way our spoke with another table and they echoed the same issues)On top of all of this the place was filthy and noticed them re-filling the chutneys back up when clearing the table (that a two year old from our party had put his fingers in) they then left these on the side.Along with this review I’ve reported them to the local Environmental Health Officer as well as licensing.

The food has definitely improved recently, although it was always good. The young man who served and cleared away our things was very polite and helpful. Unfortunately, the person in charge on the night we were there was rude and his attitude to us as paying customers was not appreciated.

Our go to for date night as is by far the best Indian restaurant and takeaway in reading. The food, service and choice is top notch. We regularly visit and every time the visit is flawless and food exquisite. Would recommend to anyone without hesitation.

The chicken shahee passanda is a common order for us, we usually manage to split one between 2 as it's reasonably generous (with rice and naan). Usually calling ahead to collect, the staff are pretty efficient and have it ready in the time stated.

Have ordered food from Miahs for the past year, is good food, but recently they just can’t get it together, the quality of the food has gone down but tonight’s meal may have been the worst curry I’ve ever had.Came without any accompaniments, rice was missing and bread, the food itself as you can see from the picture was unrecognisable as chicken.Outside was black, Inside was dark brown. It could only be described as bark and not the good wood smoked kind.Quality control seems to be non existent and if I had been at the restaurant I would have walked out.Time to find a new Curry House.

Ordered a delivery online for 6.30pm and at 7.45 we are still waiting. The worst delivery and excuses I've ever experienced. At 6.30 recieved a message to say it was enroute and we are a maximum of 15 mins from restaurant. Will not ever take the chance on this restaurant ever again, usually good food but no good if it doesn't arrive..

Absolutely amazing! Our favourite local place to eat in and take away from. We’ve been their customers for years now and every time we’re in, the staff are incredibly friendly and the food is fantastic. Try it if you haven’t already!

In very plan and simple terms , it was unfortunately not a good experience.The food was definitely the best part of our visit but the attitude of a certain male member of staff made the experience awful , he was rude very inpatient and incredibly unpleasant to have serve us.It’s a shame too that every customer we could hear being very unhappy with being told one thing and then another happens.This Miahs was certainly not good time for us to enjoy a night out.I would say order and not come in but I’ve also heard that the ordering process is unbelievable too !Do not come here or order here.

Ordered our food online while travelling home from London and requested it be delivered at 20:00.We then had a phone call from the restaurant saying that the driver was outside our house trying to deliver our food an hour earlier that the time we had requested it.It then passed 20:00 and we called the restaurant to chase up where our food was as we was worried they had completely cancelled our order. We were told that the driver was out delivering our food now so it would arrive any minute. Also need to mention that the person who we spoke to on the phone was extremely rude & blunt with us.We live not even 5 minutes away from the restaurant and are still waiting for our food!Not happy at all with this service and will definitely not order takeaway from here again.
