Oriental Wok in Wokingham

Just wanted to give a local, and fair, review of this place for those looking, given we come here a lot!We come to Oriental for both Chinese and Chippy when we fancy it.Chippy is standard fare, but exactly what you are looking for. Don’t get salt and vinegar on chips though as they go abit mad! But otherwise battered sausage, scampi, nuggets, mushy peas, curry sauce and of course chips are bang on.For Chinese, hands down best prawn toast from a takeaway ever…it’s prawn French baguette and honestly it’s absolutely perfect. Various Chinese meals (beef in black bean, chicken szechuan, chicken in peanut sauce etc) all very good if a bit salty on average. Chow mein is bang on, and Singapore again very flavourful (again a little salty).Overall very good place so do give it a go if you’re looking. Just abit salty on average is pulling it down from a 5 star, but given portion sizes are GENEROUS, food is hot and consistent, this is a small issue. As said, my wife and I always go here.

Love this takeaway. Beef/Mushroom in Oyster sauce, King Prawns in Sweet n Sour sauce, chips and curry sauce with chicken fried special rice, love it, so friendly and really I have been using them for so long now, they deserve a shout out 👌

Food is terrible, too greesy , beef curry tasted like he added so much sugar, horrible sweet taste,Chicken ball battery was awful, tastes like cake batter.Chips are greesyNot sure why anyone would eat from this Chinese,Have tried twice over a period of 1 month and was just as bad both timesChinese on High Street Hong Kong 100 times better

I can honestly say I just had the worst battered sausage and chips of my life! Soggy, greasy and tasteless chips with barely any salt, the batter around the sausage was soggy and had no crisp. Curry sauce was a shambles, I feel like I got diabetes from that alone. Would not recommend.

Ordered a king prawn curry, which was very runny with no flavour and appeared to have been watered down. Prawn crackers were also stale.Cod more often than not is very dry and bland. Only good thing going for this place is the haddock (as always cooked fresh) and the chips.

Had chinese . More shredded carrot than crispy beef . Sweet sour sauce waterd down.. prawns were tiny . This was not cooked fresh was heated up food . Would not reccomend and will not be returning . Standard was very poor.

Not tried the Chinese but the fish and chips is great, best in the village and cooked fresh if you call ahead. Generous portions and good quality fish.

Always good food. Also their Fish and chips have improved greatly recently. Very good.

Called in here on the way home and tried it for the first time, will not be returning. The waiting time would have been ok if the quality was up to standards. Quite bland in comparison to some of the other local takeaways. Not the worst but also far from the best.
