St. George and Dragon in Wokingham

The new revamped menu is excellent (we tried seafood & fish dishes for both starter and mains). The wines selection for by the glass consumption is well balanced. Service was efficient and friendly. Breathtaking views on a clear day !! Will certainly re-visit, thank you for a great experience

We had a nice drink here on the benches beside the river. A lovely location and great selection of drinks. Highly recommended!

Fabulous venue - car parking (super handy!), right on the river (beautiful setting) and awesome team.I wanted to thank Drazen Alex and your team for the very kind, very understanding and patient welcome you gave our party on Sunday - your front of house team were calm and serene and always in control, whilst I'm sure everything was working madly behind the scenes. The food came out, despite the large numbers, on time and hot, and every plate was delicious.I can't thank you all enough for making it seem, and feel easy, and doing it all with kindness and smiles. You have an excellent team. We are a local family, and it's so great to have such a great venue in the village.

We got there early but the manager let us in which was good as it was a bit nippy. The staff were great and also the food was lovely. My steak was perfect. No faults.

Absolutely wonderful food and service for ten people. The staff were so attentive and kind. Everyone enjoyed every course of food without any complaints at all. A special shout out to to Mihai who was just brilliant.As it was my Dads birthday the restaurant surprised my Dad with a wonderfully decorated desert which none of us knew about!! Thank you so much to you all at The St George and Dragon.

Fantastic place for food, drink and atmosphere. Just had an amazing Christmas Day dinner with my family and it was flawless. Service was impeccable and the food was delicious. Every single family member left with filled bellies and great satisfaction and some are harder to please than others. Staff were incredibly attentive and did not pester and double checked food orders to make sure everything flowed nicely. Will be returning many times more. Thanks again everyone at the G&D, Wargrave.

We went here on Christmas Eve as we'd thought we'd go out to treat ourselves after a hectic few months. Not something we would do at Christmas.Food was absolutely lovely. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the service. Despite it being a festive menu, items were not available to order, which we were not informed of until we tried to order. When it came to the bill, they had overcharged even though it was a set price and added a service charge, even though their menu said for tables of 6. We were only 2.Then, when I asked for the chocolates that were included, we were given 2 father Christmas kit kats. It should have been green and blacks milk chocolate. I assume to keep up the standard.When I enquired about this, the waiter took the menu from me and walked off. When he returned, he said, "That's all we have."Not quite the Christmas Eve experience we were hoping for from a well established restaurant offering a special experience.

Superb view out over the river. Moored right outside (though need good fenders). Food also excellent, with brief but sophisticated menu reasonably priced and cheerfully served. First time. Had an excellent lunch meeting up with an old friend. Thoroughly recommended.

Lovely pub by the river with nice outdoor and indoor seating.The food was delicious. The scallops with pea veloutè was amazing, so light and fresh.We didn't try dessert, I do hope to next time.The service was friendly and professional.
