The food here is amazing! Hubby had the dirty (Vegan) burger, he was hopeful that it might be "OK" and was surprised that it was blooming lovely! I had the lentil & chickpea curry. It all had loads of flavour and was presented beautifully. I was driving so I tried a "mocktail" absolutely gorgeous! We'll be returning to this lovely pub ❤️

First visit and we were very impressed. Busy Saturday night but didn't feel crowded and we weren't rushed. Our server was excellent and was happy to make minor alterations to the meals so we got exactly what we wanted. When the food arrived it was well presented and tasted great. We will certainly be returning.

Popped in to see what the refurbishment was like, and it's lovely. The outside space in particular is much improved, and the pub itself is as friendly and comfortable as ever. One of the relatively few pub/restaurants that works just as well as a pub.

It was OK. The menu needs to have a lot more choice on. Also my friends steak wasn’t cooked right so we had to send it back. The table next to us had the same issue. My food was quite underwhelming too. The only good thing were the staff. But I won’t be going back again unfortunately until their menu is changed.

A beautiful place for a spot of food. The staff were very attentive and very knowledgeable about their menu. Nothing seems like too much trouble here!A lovely family feel atmosphere. I will definitely be returning - thank you!

After the remodel the menu has been slightly updated. Alot of the same dishes on there but what came out were lesser quality. Felt like cost cutting and it showed all round. Good service by the staff who seemed to be understaffed but did their best. A bit disappointing and won't be our go to Sunday lunch choice anymore.

On the 8th April we took my father who was visiting from Somerset for a drink to the Chequers. We sat at a table that said it was reserved from 8pm, it was 5:30 so we thought we’d have plenty of time for a drink. About 45 minutes later a member of staff came over and said that we’d have to vacate the table as someone had just booked it online. I complained as we chose the table as the little card said reserved at 8pm. Not the best service at all. The table was in the bar area, not the restaurant. They shouldn’t allow these tables to be booked when paying customers are sat down having a drink. It’s our local and we are often there so this was very disappointing. We left altogether and went somewhere else. Very frustrating to say the least.

Very impressed with the cozy area we got just for us. Good music, great atmosphere, wonderful service and the food was delicious. The pictures says it all. Will definately book again!

Nice gastropub with good choice of food. Staff were really friendly and very engaging with our child. The interior was well laid out with a good amount of space between tables. The food was better than it often is in these type of pubs. What was particularly impressive is that they offer to make any child dish as a smaller version of the adult version. This means there is so much more choice than the often very limited children's menu. There is a reasonable amount of parking but it was full shortly after we arrived. Not sure if there is other parking nearby.Highly recommend.
