The Fat Fish in Wokingham

This place has completely lost the plot. A "large" haddock and chips now costs you over £10 for a measly portion of what I can only describe as soggy fish. A real same, as the staff are generally polite. I'd go elsewhere even if you're a local.

This used to be a great place for fish and chips .Now however it's like the chips need a spray tanbecause they have no colour or crisp. And the fish is poor and undercooked it's like tempura sushi.Just please cook the chips longer and buy better grade fish and bring this back too the hayday

I keep giving this chippy a chance but the quality is very much hit and miss. Once or twice its been great, There have been many times where I've just had to throw the fish away. On several occasions the fish has been hard and dry. On some occasions, the chips have been damp and cold. Very frustrating when you've got family round.

Beautiful fish and chip shop, friendly staff and very clean inside. Fish is always fresh and delicious with the fresh slice of lemon😋. would definitely recommend, very traditional fish and chips !!

Um very nice service, nice chips and tartar sauce, mush peas bit over done too much liquid still ok, the fish I was very disappointed, reason the batter on my fish was only on one side, also very greasy needs more care preparing the fish,

Very disappointed as this shop used to be very good. Been a while since last visit and unfortunately this time around- fish was very dry and the skin was very tough (assuming it had been sat under the hot lights for quite some time) and the portion of chips was extremely small.

Perfect meal, very enjoyable. I had fish (which was freshly cooked and very tasty) but I found a few bones. I'm not putting fat fish down at all just a polite warning, please try it people, the best fish I've had for a while.

Disappointing food tonight. Went in soon after opening. Friendly and helpful staff, but ... food appeared to be reheated and wasn't as hot as I expected. Nice flavours but the lack of crisp hot batter, soft chips and some cool spots rather spoilt the experience for us. Will try later in the evening next time.

The chips were lovely. But the cod was awful, the fish meat was dry and the batter was chewy and like cardboard. Clearly reheated. I used to be a regular customer and always loved their fish and chips. But after tonight I won’t be going back there again.

Twyfodians will likely rave over this place but I would recommend Salt and Vinegar in Woodley. Wet batter, tasteless curry sauce and soggy chips..
