Overall good experience, service was OK and friendly. Menu was a little bit strange, but had pie and mash so I was happy. Little bit limited otherwise. Drinks were expensive, but maybe a sign of the times. Not that busy for a Saturday night , but again a sign of the times probably.

3 is low but 4 is to high. If you consider my pie and chips with fabulous pints of ale alone... Then a 4* was nailed on. My partner ordered a nice Sirloin medium rare... It was well done when it arrived. It was the last steak left and the menu only has limited choices... so that was that. It spoiled the score but that was £22 for a steak so it really should have been delivered to requirement.Service throughout was good and attentive. Ambience nice.If you want tasty pub classics this is a lovely place. Nice decor lovely bar. Totally recommended.

Not somewhere I would go back to. Nice pint of Wadsworth's 6X though. The food was below standard, very poor presentation, overcooked chips and half a mushroom. Steak plonked on top of chips!! Very poor. Substandard I would say, Inc the chef.

The best pub by far in the local area. Food is fresh and menu is superb. Good range of beers, lagers and ciders. Plenty of tables but best to book ahead. Such a friendly welcome

The service was very good, the food all came out at the same time as expected, despite the whole bar being busy. There was a great range of food to choose from and most of it was good to outstanding. The starters were of excellent quality. The nut roast was very good, and there was a lot of meat for all of the roast meals ordered. The roast potatoes were very poor - cooked too long, dry and not crisp at all. There was not enough veg for the number of roast dinners we ordered. A gammon meal was ordered and ham was served rather than gammon - my partner did not complain as he wanted to eat with the rest of us.Having enjoyed the starters so much it was a shame about the desserts, I ordered a peach melba eton mess which was hugely disappointing. It tasted and looked like tinned sliced peaches, with one raspberry, meringue pieces and a portion of lovely ice cream that was surrounded by whipped cream squirted from a can. The scoop of ice cream my relative ordered was a bit miserly as well.Overall, It was good but desserts disappointing. Thank you.

If you want to have a Sunday lunch at this place it is best to book as soon as you can. I did not book, but the staff did state that we could order some things on the menu. The members of staff were extremely welcoming, nice and friendly. They did all that they could to ensure that people felt at ease. Everyone who stepped int othe pub was greeted nicely. If one is there for a small snack, the cheese on garlic bread was lovely. The service was quick and I cannot think of any way to improve.***We attended again in February 2022. The place was extremely crowded and it was evident that all of the members of staff were working exceptionally hard to ensure that everyone got served in a timely manner. The tortellini was nice and the sauce was lovely. It would have been better if it had been served with some form of melted cheese, but that is just my preference. The members of staff were friendly and attentive.***

Fantastic pub and lovely staff. Went to play a gig there and enjoyed the food and drink immensely. Lovely atmosphere and a heated marquee in the beer garden.

Great service our server a young energetic lady who had just returned to work after being off for months was brilliant! Atmosphere and food were great. Highly recommended!

This was an absolutely fabulous place. I could not recommended this venue highly enough. Situated in a beautiful village of St Nicholas Hurst. Our host was great and made sure we were all ok during the evening. Even putting up the Xmas music for our benefit. Easily looking after a 15 strong sales team. The food was out of this world. I had a vegetarian option. It was very easy set up. Either ordering a 2 course or a 3 course option. Such a lovely time. Even at the end giving discount vouchers off our next meal. Happy Xmas team.

One of my favourites to head to. Has an epic atmosphere that's very chill. The food is always amazing, and cooked to perfection, I have had a range of food at this pub and it's always been the best and we'll priced.Perfect selection of all your favourite drinks and serves gin exactly as it should be.The staff are all very kind, service with a smile is always. Will always recommend, see you next time!
