The food is always delicious and the staff are super friendly. Just make sure you're not in a rush as if you're in a group service can be slow. Fortunately we like to chat for hours so we don't mind.

There’s a really nice vibe at the Old Leathern bottle. The service was great and the ‘Trio of roasts’ was ok. Being a ‘chef and brewer’ pub I wasn’t surprised when the veg appeared to be from a microwave pack and the meat a bit on the chewy side, but We enjoyed our meals here all the same and would come again.

This is a lovely place to come and eat with friends or family. I visited my sister and she had booked us a table. We were greeted by a very polite and friendly lady who directed us to our table and explained how things work as she handed us our menus. We ordered drinks and were left to chat and browse the menus. The place felt very homely and it was easy to feel relaxed. The menu featured a good round of choice for most people and prices looked very reasonable. We were not hassled for our menu choices like some places. The waitress popped by to inquire after a good while but had been around not far away if we had needed her sooner. She was very friendly and polite with just the right amount of small talk to make us feel that she was pleased we were here. (sorry.. did not recall her name)We all ordered different meals, but each one was delicious and well prepared. Good even temperature and good taste. We all ordered dessert too which was also very nice.Portions are generous so there was no skimping there.Toilet facilities looked clean and well maintained.Would recommend this place highly.Nice atmosphere, lovely staff, good food and great prices :-)

Roast lunch was good. Nice restaurant area. Took about 40 mins from order to food arriving but for a Sunday lunch thats ok.

After a number of visits over the years to YOLB it has always been a bit hit and miss. However, the Burns Night was by far the worst I've experienced and will result in us thinking twice before visiting again. The speed of service was appalling. We waited 45 minutes for what was a tiny first course. The total time in the pub was 3 hours which was not ideal when we have to get up early the next day.I can only guess that the pub was short-staffed. They should have known how busy it would be based on the number of bookings. If there were staffing issues then you have two options: find more staff or cancel tables so that the assigned staff can handle the workload. It would appear that the pubs priority was money in the till rather than seeking repeat business (which they'll now unlikely get from us). For the staff that were there, the team seemed very unorganized and a little bit all over the place. Having worked in busy bars and pubs myself I can only recommend further training for operating on these busy nights. Also, it was a great shame to see the waiting staff standing around chatting to each other even though there was food ready to be taken to tables (things you see when sat near the kitchen). It wasn't all bad. Two out of the four courses were delicious. And in fairness to the waitress she apologised for the speed of service throughout the evening. I can only recommend to management to look at how they operate these busy nights or you will lose many customers.

Lovely cosy pub with friendly staff. Dog friendly, Nice outdoor booths and benches. Food is good. Would like to see a wider range of beers.

Had a great dinner here. Waitress was lovely, nice and attentive. Great roast dinner with all the trimmings, brockkly. and cracklin. After had desert, nice apple crumble. Lovely warm atmosphere, very cosy. One slight critisism, two hot.

I had a craving for pie and there were 2 choices on the menu...very good chicken, leek and mushroom option, gravy and veg also very tasty. Chips were a little dry, but didn't stop me finishing it all off. My boyfriend had a burger but couldn't finish it, I obliged and it was not bad at all. Wasn't a fan of his truffle fries though.Soft drink was very pricey (£3.45 for a pint of coke zero). But prosecco is £12 per bottle on a Friday so I know what I'm getting next time! The rest of the menu sounds tasty and the interior of the pub is cosy and comfortable. Our waitress was lovely as well.Looking forward to going back.

Went for lunch on a Saturday (15th may)... Service, food and arrangements are fantastic.Service on time, quick and perfectly timed. Very neat, clean and sanitised premises.Food wise, can't complain and above the level for a pub and top notch.2 starters - 1 veg and the other is BBQ Korean wings.Mains - beatroot burger and hunters chicken.Lastly, vanilla cheesecake with coffee.I would certainly visit again :)
