Cow & Oak Freehouse and Terrace in Worthing

What a find, in Worthing for the weekend and this place was perfect, the decor, staff, music and food were all wonderful. We came back twice for food, generous portions and the price was great for the level of quality they provide, simply delicious. The manager and staff are brilliant, thinking of moving to Worthing and if we do, this will be my local for sure.

A decent roast at a pleasant pub with good decor. Only complaint is that Beef was sold as medium to rare and turned up well done.

Went in for a roast with the family. I ordered the lamb which was delicious. We also ordered a couple of side items for the kids, extra roasties, pigs in blankets and cauliflower cheese. So much food for 4 of us but definitely worth it. Nice atmosphere and good service. There was also games for the kids to play when waiting which always helps. I left stuffed and slightly merry. Perfect for a Sunday.

Excellent choice for Sunday lunch. Very helpful and friendly. Great choice of vegetarian and vegan options. All of our food was excellent. Great selection of sides to make for a very interesting lunch.

If the log fire was going, I'd give more stars, ha haGood vegan menu & it was offered without having to ask.Need more vegan desserts though.My o/h was chuffed that you had half roasts, as he's not a big eater.

I had the belly pork and a pint of badgers is a wicked glass. The atmosphere is chilled and a great place to go for maybe a first date or to go with colleagues after work. They have a quiz night and a comedy night midweek.

Good atmosphere, decor is grand and staff friendly. They also have a vegan menu which is a big bonus.

Delicious sea bass with cherry tomatoes roasted on the vine, plus all the trimmings. Good portion. I like when the description says walnuts, you don't have to hunt for tiny pieces of chopped nut; these were big and plentiful. Pomegranate completed this, making it delightfully different. Friendly, unobtrusive staff. Free WiFi. Full bar, including loads of gin, and a limited cocktail menu. Dog friendly 🐕What a shame they fell at the final hurdle; the light and tasty brownie with ice cream was served on a slate rather than a plate, which I loathe. Slate is for roofing not eating. However, that is a personal foible, so 9/10. I would recommend and return. Indeed, this is soon to become my local, as it was my Father's before me, when it was The Royal Oak. I can still picture him sitting at the bar.
