What a fantastic place to grab something to eat. The staff were fantastic and made me a bacon sandwich which was perfect for me. The bakery was also lovely!

Delicious bread and baked goods.Service a bit slow but well meaning both in the shop and in the cafe.Sadly no kitchen service from 15:00, so food limited to sales from the shop. A very nice surprise to be offered their delicious unsold bread free to customers before closing time.

Traditional tea with excellent cakes and afternoon tea. Meringues are gluten free. Ordered a birthday cake which was delicious and beautifully decorated.

Burgers has been here forever, and I hope it continues for a long time. It’s not fancy, it’s just decent food (as well as the excellent bakery!). Popped in for Ham, egg and chips as they do really good chips !

If I could choose a one star rating I definitely would, the manager was far more rude then the rest of the staff put together. I was sat right in front of the kitchen and watched my food go cold for over ten minutes, the kitchen staff rung the service bell several times whilst the manager and another waitress stood to the side of the restaurant having a chat. When the manager eventually went into the kitchen she picked up the plate next to mine that had only been there for a couple of minutes leaving mine to go colder. When the food was eventually bought to us by another member of staff, I asked if it was the same one that had been sat on the side for ten minutes, the poor young waitress had no idea so I apologised as she was not the one serving us originally. She asked if she could take it back and get a fresh one to which I agreed, then witness the kitchen staff pick up the toastie and place back into the oven at which point we decided this was ridiculous and went to leave. I asked if I could speak to the manager on the way out, the lovely lady they call the “manager” came over, I expressed my concerns and her response was “I’m sorry you feel that way” no offer of good will venture after making us sit there for 30 minutes for nothing, so rude, so unpleasant and highly unprofessional. If you’re in the area and fancy a bite I recommend the Cesar, Costa or Starbucks which are all very close by. I’m all for supporting small businesses in this difficult time but if the staff can’t even be courteous enough to help, I definitely won’t be supporting it. Posted last night and deleted once already.

Lovely place. Afternoon tea and coffee is great too. Regularly visit with my husband on the occasional weekday morning.

Great cakes. Very good service. Disappointing pot of tea. Tasted slightly odd. But a teabag in a pot is not on a par with the cakes. Check out some better leaf teas and I wonder if the water is freshly boiled. Spot on tea and it would be 5 stars.

Excellent coffee and cakes. Ordered the cream tea - the scone was delicious. Friendly service, relaxed atmosphere

It was great to go to a good, old fashioned, honest tea shop. When we originally saw the shop we thought "we don't want a burger", but on investigation found that it was a lovely tea shop with a fantastic choice of quality savouries and cakes.I would definitely recommend this place to everyone.
