Empire of India in Wycombe

OMG, my last meal from here was acceptable but tonight's delivery was dreadful. Overcooked mushy rice, soggy cauliflower in a sauce of... water. Broken fragments of onion Baji, tiny samosa not worth the money. Main dish floating in ghee.

Absolutely shocking food! Asked for it well done? It came back hardly cooked & cold! Can’t even cook a poppadom properly! The last viseroy is round the corner, go there trust me! Knocks spots off this place 👎

Really unimpressed. No attempt at spices or depth of flavour. My mango chicken tikka was sickly sweet and tasted like fruit juice. Sag paneer didn't appear to have any cheese in other than the grated cheddar that came on top. Easily the worst curry I've ever had. Real shame.

Only ordered poppadums and condiments and after getting home I opened burnt poppadums and something which looked like dishwasher for mango chutney! Please please take a good look at what you are serving customers as this was an easy order and couldn't be worse than it was. Thankfully we cooked out own beautiful curry tonight!

Really disappointed with the service received from Empire of India (EOI). The delivery man arrived with numerous items missing from the order, but tried to tell me that nothing was missing and tried to hide the receipt from me so that I couldn’t prove it. The delivery man was very reluctant to resolve the situation, so I told him to take the food and I would call EOI myself to resolve. I called and simply asked that we have a new order sent to us, however the gentleman I spoke to was rude, continuously talking over me, and then eventually hung up on me. When I called back, he was still trying to rush me off the phone but assured me that the food would arrive shortly. I called back 20 mins later as it had still not arrived (I live 5 mins away) - he first told me that he was packing up the food, then said that it was already with the driver, and then told me that the driver was at my house (all within 20 seconds), which was not true. When the food finally arrived, another 25 minutes later, the order was correct. The gentleman from EOI also sent me a grovelling apology text (I’m guessing to stop me from leaving this review). However, the chicken was slightly undercooked (luckily I realised this quickly and didn’t eat the rest), however I had eaten enough to have a poorly stomach for the rest of the evening. As a result, I will not be ordering from here again and don’t recommend that anyone else does either.

This is the best tasting Indian takeaway for miles around and beats on flavour alone the more well known takeaways in Bourne End and Cookham. Prices competitive too.

It was our first time ordering for a farthers day treat, unfortunately our experience was slightly tinted by the 2 hour wait for delivery! We called to see where the driver was and discovered he had gone to the wrong address. He was very apologetic and the food was nice, when it arrived. Though by this time the food was cold and left us feeling very disappointed.

Our go to Indian takeaway. The owner is lovely; remembers all our family members and asks after them when we order. The food is very good and my husband (being half Indian himself) is very fussy. Delivery for us - though we are local - is only about 35mins which is ideal and the portions are of good sizes. No artificial colours and a tasty treat.

Absolutely delicious!! Enjoyed all the bits to our meal (samoosas, naan, popadoms etc) and couldn't complain. Delivery time was a bit slack but they were very apologetic so I hope it was just a once off. Highly recommend!! :-)
