Went tonight for our anniversary meal, thought we'd support our local but sadly left feeling extremely disappointed. The good wife ordered the 28 day rump steak of which, even with a steak knife, could not cut through as so full of sinew!Upon informing the staff, they returned with a comment "the chef says it is because it's rump" but there was no other steak choice and have never had a price of meat that bad before. A different dish was chosen but arrived with the original onion rings part of it, of which were now cold! For deserts, the cheese platter was chosen by myself, to be presented with two pieces of cheese comprising of a small bit of Bree and a piece of blue, along with three crackers, no butter.Such a shame, wishing we went elsewhere.

A lovely meal out. Always hot, with a decent amount of food without being too much.

Nice pub. Staff were friendly. Had cask ales on. We sat in the garden and had a few rounds. Excellent Garden, would be great when the sun is out. Have tried the food, but the pork scratchings were excellent! Didn't notice any gluten free beer, and it was a little on the expensive side.

Nice pub, good decor and nice staff. Really nice garden area out the back. Entrance needs to be more obvious; it's not on the street it's inside the archway and not well signposted. I had two people in the beer garden ask me where the entrance to the pub was!

Very nice village pub and hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food menu looked good but also looks expensive. Definitely worth a try.

We visited the new coffee shop at The George and Dragon, called Montgomery.Service was a bit slow, no-one serving in the coffee shop. However the coffee was delicious and the rocky road was a perfect partner - I reckon it was homemade. This is a new enterprise and needs a bit more time to grow. We know the George and Dragon well and I'm certain they will gradually get it just perfect with a little more time to develop and improve. It has one irresistible asset - a beautiful setting in the middle of this quaint little villageWell worth a visit. Go for a coffee and you may even stay for lunch!

Service was excellent. Food good quality but at the moment, understandably a limited menu. Only fish and chips or burger as a main course choice. Lots of outside seating with umbrellas. A very pleasant experience for our first venture out since lockdown.

Have passed this pub/restaurant for 19 years without ever being tempted to pop in. On the recent recommendation of a colleague we thought we’d give it a try. So pleased that we did. There’s been new management since March and they are doing great things. We went for a mid week evening meal. Staff were spot on and the food was both excellent and surprising. It’s British food with a modern touch and I loved the curry sauce with my fabulous fish and chips. My wife had ham, egg and chips with a glorious pineapple salsa and not your usual egg. The menu is not extensive but changes regularly and we will certainly return to see what new delights are on offer. This place deserves to do very well.
