Rude , Rude "Lady " Arrived as a group of 6 cyclists cafe only 1/3 full , immeadiately given a lecture that we should book first and she would serve all the other customers who had booked first . Actually no-one ahead of us or waiting but contrived to keep us waiting for 10 minutes presumably as an educational experience and felt the need to say other groups always booked. Needless to say other cafes are available and we wont be back! Do so Hope she stays in business on the less busy winter days when no-one books!

Enjoyable visit. However, we did feel a bit put off by the bookings only signs upon approaching the venue. I noted your previous response about staffing, Brexit, etc which I totally get. Perhaps it would be more appropriate to state that bookings are STRONGLY encouraged, walk ins welcomed outside of busy periods? We didnt have a booking but were managed to be served. We did feel like we were breaking the rules in even asking the question. It just came across as a bit unwelcoming. Esp for someone making their first visit who doesn't live locally and know about the protocol.

Lovely place with delicious local food and drinks. Very polite staff and overall a great experience. Will definitely come back for coffee and cake as I haven’t tried those yet, but they looked so nice.I did book in advance, but found it incredibly strange that there are no walk-ins. It was empty when I arrived, but I had to rebook a few times for a suitable slot, as I was on a hike nearby and didn’t know what the exact arrival time will be. Luckily they had many available time slots, but I found it strange nonetheless.

A friend took me to The Barn today (13.05.2022), as a birthday treat. I had the beef burger and it was wonderful. My friend visits often with her husband and had told me how fantastic the food was. Well it exceeded my expectations. The ceramic plates, bowls etc are nice if a little heavy but are a lovely feature.

The Barn - where customers appear to be an inconvenience. Met by rude, patronizing arrogant staff whose eyes lit up when I told them I hadn't booked, they enjoy turing you away here. I can understand this in busy high quality establishment but the Barn is/was neither when I visited. The place was near empty with no queues, but you have to book for a coffee - ridiculous - wake up, the COVID restrictions have been lifted. Last time I had a coffee here it tasted like instant yet expect to be charged Barista prices. With so many fantastic places to eat and drink in such a short distance of the Barn I'd advise you to go where your made to feel welcome

Is this one of the best places to come in the area?Yes.Great coffee, cake and teas plus burgers and pizza ovens ❤️You need to book in advance. Plenty of outdoor seating in one of the most beautiful areas with friendly staff.

Very nice rustic venue for walkers/dog walkers and cyclists. A lot of outdoor seating and under cover in the barn. The barn could do with a little more lighting in a couple of corners for safety reasons (trip hazards).Food was very tasty, well presented and reasonable in cost. There was a nice variety too.Loved the open kitchen and its utilising of old car sections.

Such a nice location with lovely staff, amazing food and ceramics of dreams which are all locally made. The falafel burger was the best I've ever had and members of my group had the pheasant and venison burgers which were also delicious. Will be back for pizza and goulash!

I'm not sure I've ever been to a more picturesque place. Beautiful day (possibly too hot) but we had a nice walk from Turville to the barn and had booked for the barn. When we arrived it looked like a scene out of a western with horses tied up at the entrance.Food was great, chips were amazing (highlight, but the burger was good too) and the ice creams hit the spot on a warm day.

Make sure you book! Popped in for lunch after a hike - great burger and soup and they also sell beer. If like us you've never wandered down the lane to investigate then it's well worth the stroll to The Barn.
