Traditional pub with great food. Very friendly staff and fantastic pies. Only very small sitting area inside so better for functions in separate rooms or sitting in the large outdoor area. Decent car park.

Food was brilliant. Service was terrible. We waited 15 minutes just to receive our menus. Staff were rude and brought back of house issues to the front, including the fact that they were understaffed. They should have instead stopped letting in more tables and concentrated on providing service to the ones they had.

The service in this beautiful and traditional country pub, is exemplary. The food is hearty, wholesome and tasty, presented beautifully but not in a "chefy" unreal way, although the chef produces wonders. Fairly priced generous portions of food, good wine, lovely ales and friendly warm atmosphere. They will see us again, soon.

Amazing pies and desserts (I am sure the other food is good too but my stomach is finite). Warm and welcoming pub hosts, cosy atmosphere with the fire and decor. Perfect stop after a long walk.

A fantastic experience. Staff extremely friendly and welcoming to ourselves and our dog. Excellent service and delicious food. Log fire too! I hope to return very soon

Stopped by this pub a few months ago whilst out walking and the food looked amazing so came back for Sunday Lunch and was not disappointed! The staff were incredibly friendly and the food was delicious. We both had the Big Roast and could barely clear our plates. Will definitely be coming back to try the pies very soon!

Genuine warm welcome, roaring fire, attentive staff with a talented chef. We traveled from Winchester and really enjoyed our visit. We would highly recommend and look forward to revisiting.

A proper pub that has not been converted into a wine-bar. Wonderful setting and atmosphere. And the food is to die for. We had white bait (crispy and delicious) followed by lamb shank (amazing) and chicken and mushroom pie (delicious shortcrust pastry). Highly recommended

I will definitely correct my rating and award 5 stars when The Bull & Butcher will have a vegetarian milk option and start serving plant based gravy.Now... I know that complaining about a vegan option in a country pub with "butcher" in its name sounds ridiculous ;) I myself eat meat and enjoyed my big roast today, but my daughter doesn't. She had a very tasty vegetarian loaf with all the trimmings, however she was served exactly the same meat-based gravy.I think that keeping few oat milk cartons wouldn't ruin the pub and those guests who choose dairy-free milk could enjoy their cup of tea or coffee.

The Best pub in the world. Xx i was on a horse ride out and it was nice to see this lovely village pub in my sights, exspecial as the sun was out and I had covered a fair few miles. Very friendly staff that catered for my thirst. Thank you so much. X
