We visited the pub for family birthday celebrations. The venue is beautiful, lovely setting, pub is decorated nicely and the garden is lovely too.Staff are inexperienced and poorly trained. I heard the kitchen staff shouting and yelling at the service staff, even swore, whilst I was sat breastfeeding my baby.Drinks where often forgotten, although very apologetic. My sister in law is vegan and ordered the only vegan item on the menu - it was delivered with cheese in it (no mention of this in the ingredient list) we sent it back, they removed it. We then realised it wasn’t at all what the ingredient list stated, it was missing Humous too and also at this point we doubted if the pesto was vegan, like it should be if it’s marketed as a vegan option. We sent it back, the poor waiter got sent back with the plate to us by the kitchen explaining “it’s cooked in Humous” which is a peculiar explanation for a sandwich. We had delivered a birthday cake and candles to the kitchen for dessert as a surprise for afters. The waiter came and put the cake still in box with candles also boxed, in front of the birthday recipient, surprise ruined. We asked them to pop the candles in the cake, bring plates and cutlery, we explained that probably was not the best way to serve a birthday cake, they perhaps could have asked someone before doing that. We never got the cutlery, honestly by this point we where done with the place.Such a shame to be honest.

Good experience, the food was nice and a fair price, Sunday roast was pricey but the quality of the beef more than made up for it. The usual veg was supplemented with some tasty red cabbage whitch made a plesent change, attentive staff but by 3:30 they were staring to flag a bit but couldn't blame them. The menu was a bit limited, it did have all the important elements of a Sunday lunch except fish & chips (my favourite) go again? Yes - recommend? Yes

Absolutely terrible meal. Cold food, under cooked chicken for three adults. Raw chips for the kids. Then 2.5 hours for only two courses despite a pre-ordered menu. I would avoid this place based on this experience!

Wow, place looks and feels luxurious, amazing design features and comfortable. Enjoyed burgers all round which were reasonably priced and excellently cooked, will be back again. 10/10 gold stars needed 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Very welcoming, friendly, efficient staff. Very good food. Best fruit crumble I've had in ages. And it came with custard, instead of ice cream which is seemingly hard to find these days.

The food was phenomenal! Had a small hen-do meal here. The food was mind blowing, and I didn’t expect it to be this good. And the chef came out to say hello to the bride-to-be, and gave us extra onion rings. What a babe! We will be driving an hour out of our way to come back. The food is so worth it!

Lovely, very large room with super comfy bed, impressed by integrated aircon like a big hotel chain. Very quiet at night and easy to sleep well. Nice toiletries and generous amounts. The shower and jacuzzi bath were amazing. Breakfast brought to the room was continental and good. Slightly disappointed about no real coffee (bags would be good!) but that’s minor. As regards the meal in the pub/restaurant the ambiance is cosy and convivial, and the food was really good. Staff all friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

Sadly, not very nice grey reheated beef in sweet sticky gravy. Half a carrot, half a parsnip, one large baking potato all rolled in sticky gravy. Yorkie filled with fried kale? It was like the chef was on holiday and the person cooking it had never eaten a roast beef lunch. Husband had tempura prawn starter, 3 prawns on iceberg. Pate starter was 7 lumps of chopped up supermarket roll with two triangles of bought smooth pate, a sliced gherkin and more iceberg. Service was 2 people struggling to serve everyone. Gave up waiting for service so ordered drinks inside twice and coffee and again bill. We cleared our dirty plates onto another uncleared table. No management around. Would not return. (I am a chef)

A fantastic place to stay. The staff were incredibly welcoming when we arrived. Had a quick drink whilst waiting for the room (we were early). Great selection of drinks on tap and in bottle. The room was clean and stocked with great facilities (coffee machine, TV, kettle etc etc). We went for a Sunday Roast that night. Although at 1st glance, it may seem expensive, for what you get it is very good value. Truly a huge meal with clearly high quality ingredients (how can you not love roast beef that are basically just 3 very good sized sirloin steaks). The continental breakfast was a lovely treat, showing up in a hamper. A perfect start to the day. There is lots of places nearby to see (we visited Henley-on-Thames and Hambledon Lock).Although the pub is not open Mon/Tues, the staff were more than happy to provide us with recommendations locally to eat.Very highly recommend and look forward to visiting in the future.

Great food, great atmosphere and live music in their little courtyard the last time we were there. Best of all, they make our dogs feel at home and the staff all welcome them in 🙂
