First time here, it's like taking a step back in time, it was like having a beer in someone's else's front room, if conversation is what you want this is the place

Love this pub. Like the landlady and the way she treat the beer. If you are by yourself this will give you a nice homy feeling. A pub that makes the blood pressure drop by 10 points.

Was quite the theme pub if you like creepy, village of the damned experience.Customers not wanted!! Wow! Stepped one foot in this pub & had a run in with the landlady - rude & obnoxious from the first word - had to check on here for reviews in case it was a prank pubEverything else said here is true.Empty pub with crazy rude landlady with barking dogs.Seems suprised when we walked straight out again. Then we got the long death stare through the window as we got back in the carWent to the George & Dragon and had a great lunch in a popular well run pub that looks after its customers

Absolutely absurd waste of a fantastic and historic pub....Luckily, there is hardly anyone ever serving, but if by some miracle there is someone serving, you will very soon wish there wasn't...Mad, vile landlady, no other words.....as for the 5 star reviews, they simply HAVE to be fake in some way.....

Value for money- it cant be beat. It's a pub that is lost in time like the whole of West Wycombe. Dont try to pay by card. Check out the beer garden.

The strangest pub visit ever... popped in to Public Bar on a walk for drink and snack but empty. Went round to other bar, same but a while after barking dogs appeared followed by landlady. We asked about food, her reply, no! This was followed up by you can buy a sandwich over the road to which Paul asked, could we eat it back here :) I'm happy with that she replied although never looked it. A pint of ale was cloudy and difficult to drink. The landlady later said she only buys bread on a Sunday and often doesn't sell any Ploughmans so has to use it up in bread pudding. We ate our packaged sandwiches and could feel landlady taking check backs over the bar to see if we'd left yet :)The women's outside loo was locked, as the landlady let me in she looked me up and down. There was two pieces of kitchen roll to dry your hands on inside. The car park had its chain up so definitely a deterant from visitors trying to turn in off the busy A40.Lovely village and walks with a warm welcome and great food at the George and Dragon and the Red Lion in Bradenham which is now a tea room. If you'd like a tale to take away come here :)

Looking for a drink and a sandwich during our walk around West Wycombe. Stopped at The Swan but the place looked deserted. We stood outside debating whether to try it when we were confronted by the most rude woman (guessing landlady). She said "why would you just stand there wondering if it's open??" in a very confrontational manner. She then went on to say she only serves ploughmans lunch on a Sunday. She didn't seem pleased to have customers. There was no one inside but two dogs, jumping on the furniture. The place looked like somebody's lounge, and to be honest, quite run down. The lady was very rude and needless to say, we didn't stop for a drink.

Now, if you like the idea of going into someones living room, having a can of coke, watching a bit of coronation Street, with the odd serial killer looking bloke in the corner then this is the place to go........ Defo an experience, defo worth a visit, the lady working here makes you feel like you are "an inconvenience" you know...... I'm sat here by the fire with my feet up and you want me to get up and serve you??? I even sat in her chair just to see the reaction, she almost shot me - "ummm that's my chair, I'm sitting there" so as a customer you are a hindrance on her day, and an inconvenience......... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE VISIT THIS PUB!!! Also the owner gets very annoyed if you try and buy things from her which aren't for sale, like the photos and furnishings etc - so offer to buy everything in the place the comical value is brilliant!

Not welcoming at all and rude service made to feel uncomfortable and being watched.. a real shame considering its situated in a lovely village. Owner should sell up and give it someone who actually wants to look after their customers!!
