After a pleasant walk along a board walk and on Cloughey beach you cross the main road to the Chip Buddy. It’s an ice cream & chip shop in one. Yummy 😋

Lovely (late) lunch today. Had heard good reports, and they were well justified. Light, crisp batter on a generous portion of cod, smashing burger, and surprisingly delicious salt and chilli chips with fresh chilli!Lovely job! :-D

Were to start, waited 45 minutes for my order, when I approached the female member of staff she was rather rude. Told me she was in newcastle yesterday and waited 1.5 hours and she didn't complain about the wait as it was busy. I didn't know what to say to her ignorance. Every chippy I've ever been too is rather quick and should they be busy and take that bit longer they apologise for the wait. I had no issue with the wait I was asking when it would be ready as I'd been waiting 45 mins already!I got home to find they had given me a portion of fish goujons instead of chicken 🐔 .Generally I'd have given the goujons up as a mistake and got on with life but the ignorance of the staff member concreted my decision not to return as a customer.Maybe said staff member should under go how to speak to customers.

Great stop in Cloughey while passing through. Stopped for a Chippy tea followed with a Mullins Ice cream! On street parking directly outside. Hand sanitizing station present. Great ordering & queuing system in place. Place order at counter and get a buzzer ro enable you to wait outside or in your car so social distancing can be maintained. When order ready, the buzzer vibrates and you go to the counter to collect your order! Picnic tables outside to eat food also. Friendly staff. Will definitely be back!

Chip buddy cloughey serve the best chips just like homemade.Thought we would try a fish and we were not disappointed...lovely chunky fish with crisp batter.delighted that we can purchase great food.!
