Mckees Farm Shop Restaurant in Ards

We went here on a Saturday at 2pm. It was packed but the covid procedures they have in place left me in no doubt that I was in very safe hands and everything was being done to the highest standards. Before we entered the restaurant the menu is on a board so you know exactly what you're ordering when they bring you through to the counter where they take your order payment give you the required cutlery and show you to your seat. This was amazing as there was no loitering or people walking around. The menu left us awe struck and struggling to make our minds up on what to get as there's so much delicious options. I had the roast beef dinner and my mum had the turkey and ham dinner both small portions. Its the first time I've seen this option to choose a smaller portion but I'd hate to see the large portion as I couldn't finish the small one. Both were delicious and my mum ordered a salted caramel hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream with a flake which she raved about all day. When you're heading out they've a farm shop with fresh food all prepared and the most amazing food it is all at great prices for the size of the portions. They have so much more that you'll be spoilt for choice and you will definitely not leave empty handed. This place was first class in everything food hygiene staff atmosphere price we will definitely be back and it will be sooner rather than later. I returned here on 16th March 2022 and as usual it was packed and as usual the food was lush and the quality was excellent and of the highest quality. I had the small scampi with chunky chips but for to be called small again it was massive and hard to finish. My parents had the chicken stack mum had the small portion and dad the larger you can really see the difference. The girls are lovely and nothing's too much as my dad wanted chunky chips with his instead of mash and it was no problem great atmosphere and lovely people. The best bit the farm shop on your way out I just love it. Some things can be a bit pricey but they're fresh and homemade which makes a great difference. They have this wee sweet shop with all the old boiled sweets and my dad got Chelsea whoppers he hadn't had them in years. Just remember to bring something to cover your mats in your car with as the gravel is always messy and can muck the floor of your car up big style but all good 👍

Long wait for meal . Highly unusual. Roast beef dinner poor meat appeared old certainly not fresh . Meat tough and full of Grissel. Very chewy tasteless. Yorkshire pud delivered on another plate. Hot gravy poured over cold meat. Waiting time 30 minutes. Waiter service excellent. This meal is not to the usual high standard.

First time visiting & not disappointed. Purchased McKees pineapple & chillie relish which was absolutely delicious. Shall be returning to buy a lot more of their homemade chutneys / relish. Whoever made this thank you 😍

I have just had an extremely negative and disappointing experience in the farm shop this morning. Firstly let me say the selection and quality of the food was fantastic as usual. Unfortunately these standards were absent as soon as I got to the till to pay for my trolley full of products. I was attended to by the most rudest and aggressive shop assistant I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. This young man seemed to think it was good customer service to be verbally aggressive towards me simply because I requested a larger box to pack my goods in. He actually shouted " who do you think you are "at me. Terrible behaviour.

Again a place not visited for many years. On this occasion, Saturday 18 December 2021 1100 hours, we were there for breakfast before a seaside walk at Bangor. The car park was very busy. Approaching the building there were clear instructions and directions. Restaurant to the left and the (extremely popular) Farm Shop to the right. As you got towards the Restaurant, you were told (signage) to view the menu and select your items then wait outside the Restaurant before being called when a table became free (and after being cleaned). For us this was less than five minutes. Getting into the Restaurant you gave your order to the cashier, and paid, whilst their colleague issued a table number, cutlery, and condiments. Having done that we found a table and sat down. The room offered views of Strangford Lough and Scrabo Tower. Unfortunately today with the weather cold and rather misty (visibility 100 yards ish) I could verify this. It was only a few minutes when our chosen drinks arrived followed by our food a few minutes later. The food was very good - one small breakfast, one large breakfast, one poached egg and bacon and one large cherry scone. Good sized portion, well cooked and not at all greasy. The pot of tea for two of us gave over two big cups each. Well satisfied with the food, service and the competent, friendly service we headed for the exit. A one way system took us out and into the Farm Shop (a cunning ploy to attract custom ??). This area was very busy, and interestingly for a not huge area, small trolleys were available and being used. The offer seemed very good with produce, meats, some groceries, biscuits and cakes. Quality looked very good and very tempting. After a quick look around we headed back to the car pack and onwards to our seaside walk. So, worth coming ? certainly Yes, pricing ? very reasonable, and experience ? Good. On our next trip to the Province we shall return.

Excellent food. System for collecting Christmas pre-ordered food could be improved. But everyone involved very jolly and kind. Will be using them again.

Absolutely 5 star shopping experience! Food is amazing! Staff very good and helpful! Can't express how great quality of food this place offers.

First visit today. Very impressed by the variety of items / produce on offer. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food from the Cafe smells amazing, but unfortunately didn't have time to stop. Will be making another visit to sample the cafe and more of the ready meals etc on offer.

We'd been told numerous times how fantastic McKee's is - and we weren't disappointed! Fabulous food, both in the café and in the farm shop, friendly service, amazing views, ethical farming. Should be made a national treasure!

Lovely view. Lovely food. Nice big farm shop too with delicious looking meat. Will be taking a trip here when prepping for my next bbq!
