Millars Chippy in Ards

Me and my partner went inside today at half , was nobody to welcome us ( not needed ofcourse ) we seat in and nobody come to the table to take our order, we walked out and the lady there just looked at us and didn't even asked (have yous paid for your food ) (have yous ordered yet ?) Ghost shippy, their food is lovely buy Management really need to put their staff into the right place, the fact that someone gets inside your business, takes a seat, waits and walks out without getting 1 single word from a member of staff it's just ludicrous.

What has happened to Millars lovely batterd cod. Called in this evening. Soggy batter fish was tasteless very disappointed. Wouldn’t recommend . Wasn’t that they were busy only one other girl in shop. My fish went in the bin😞

Had to wait for 15mins for a simple pastie after three other orders after me were completed . Only got it after I enquired if it was nearly coming . The server was very bland snd said it will be ready soon. There were only two other customers in the shop at the time . Seemed they were more concerned with phone orders . Last time I call in .

Ordered on phone at 4.55 today told me to call in 20 mins I am disabled not able to stand around the reason for ringing it in so I left 30 mins went still sitting qt 5.55 1 hour later never even said sorry when I got home ask for hard egg it was soft and broke all over the soda and and soda was burned black chips were like rubber stinking won't be back never treated as bad ever

Place is clean with hand sanitisers at strategic points. The sit in area is small and contains seating made up of booths and tables.The food is 5*, chips are well cooked and dry, the pasties are the best around, buy some to take home and freeze for those times you can't get to the chippy. The batter on the fish is thin and crispy but best thing on the menu is the scampi. Quite simply it is the best scampi I have tasted in many a year the only disappointment was no lemon but then very few chip shops now have lemon available.

Called in to pick up telephone order for a fish supper never again and to think I passed 3 chips shops to go there .Ive seen battered sausages bigger to be honest I thought they had given me the wrong order.Its a pity you cant up load a photo on here

Great place to go if you wanna go in and stand at the counter and be ignored. Now I haven't got extensive hospitality experience but I'm pretty sure even the restaurant run by an actual RAT in ratatouille figured out that taking people's orders is an important part of the whole thing. Useless.

Ordered a simple battered sausage supper for delivery to comber at 6pm. Said it would be here between 6:45 and 7pm. It was late so rang to see where it was and they said it will be delivered at 7:20. Still late and they won’t give me any money back. Considering they had 1 hour and 30 minutes to make a battered sausage supper is quite ridiculous.

Decided I'd try Millars scampi last night as I always use this chippy because the food is usually great every visit. Although I got food poisoning this time from their Scampi was up all night vomiting, nausea, high temp etc I happened to notice big black veins in the fish too which I haven't had before. When my mum rang them to make them aware of this they claimed their scampi is fresh & a very good seller & my vomiting wasn't necessarily from their food. Disappointed tbh as it was always my number 1 go to chip shop☹️

Always freshly cooked while you wait. Fantastic selection to pick from. Four stars because in my mind Battered Sausages should be whole and not split in two. If you are going to do them this was why not have both.
