Muffler in Ards

We read plenty of good reviews about this place so decided to travel here for lunch - unfortunately when we arrived we were promptly told that only tea/coffee could be served, as the kitchen had now closed. We enquired (for future reference) what time it closed at, only to find out we were literally a few minutes past their kitchen closing time - we explained that we had travelled quite some distance to go to their cafe, and would have appreciated even cold food or whatever was available, however we were told no. So we had coffee then left.The coffee was fine, but, I would have appreciated if the staff would have helped us more, as although we were past their kitchen closing time this was literally just a few minutes, we had also travelled so far to go there - I don’t think it would have inconvenienced them too much to prepare a basic sandwich or whatever food they had left; this could have been done very quickly. But unfortunately not helping us has left a lasting impression, so, I won’t be back.** Further edit ** The reply below from the owner really confirms my opinion. Instead of comprehending the issue with the review - a lack of courtesy from staff and complete lack of leeway for the sake of literally a few minutes - the owner is quick to say this is my fault - instead of blaming customers perhaps talking to them might help. In any case - I definitely won’t be back at this place!! Anyone considering visiting please ensure you’re on time otherwise the owner won’t be happy with you…adios Lekker - you won’t get another penny of my money.

Always great food..never disappointed service Always friendly even when place really busy..highly recommend this as the place to go for breakfast or lunch xxx

Wonderful food and friendly staff make Lekker a really first class restaurant, the Dutch pancakes are amazing 😋

Just had a delicious breakfast in Lekkers..large fry for my hubby and Dutch pancake with bacon, banana and blueberries..both absolutely yummy! Great staff too...highly recommend..will def be back!

Great selection of local and Dutch options on the menu and from the taste of them high quality ingredients being used. I know they are sourcing products locally where possible - another reason to support the Lekker team..

The Dutch inspired menu is a little bit different from the usual food on offer on the peninsula. And the vibe is warm and friendly. I would recommend a visit.

Nice anf for Dutch natives even a Dutch sounding menu, though the UK chef prepares it not the Dutch way.

Lovely place with friendly service and excellent food and coffees. Try the specials, they're amazing! Warmly recommend. ☺️👍

Asked to order an extra soda bread with my breakfast and was told no they are to busy. Unbelievable!!! Actually shocking!!Added the following after owner replied:The reply below is unbelievable and shows the restaurant attitude towards customers.I ordered the veggie fry and asked for an extra soda bread and was told no.This is unacceptable and the fact you lie here and say that I asked to swap; I did not ask to swap I asked for extra and this is clearly listed on your menu for an extra £1. Your exact words “no we can’t give you extra because we are busy and under staffed ” on your menu it says you can add an extra.Really that simple.This is why I got up and left because I asked to add to my veggie fry. You told me no. Fact!I’ll be calling tomorrow because I can’t believe you are accusing me of lying!!! Unbelievable!!!Shocking behavior.For you information Im the owner of and run a large retail store in Bangor and I know how important reviews are and don’t take me lightly here when I say I do not leave a review unless I totally feel it is necessary.This is insane!!!Terrible business and terrible way to handle a justified review.

First time in lekkers and it was excellent- nice place , good atmosphere with delicious food - I got the bittenballs with chips -something different and was superb. Will definitely be back
